If we stole the oil then why are we paying world oil prices?
Shhhh! Don't confuse them with logic.
I love to bring up that if we wanted to invade a country for it's oil then Mexico or Canada would have been a much more logical choice.
And if we for some reason needed Iraqi oil it would have been much cheaper and quicker to have just lifted the sanctions and let the little bugger run free.
