Gotta see this new website from GOOGLE..
Zoom in on YOUR HOUSE of anyone elses for that matter anywhere on the EARTH..
Amazing FLY TO feature is something you gotta see..
MUST HAVE HIGH SPPED CONNECTION FOR THE SOFTWARE TO FUNCTION...
This actually was released quite a while ago under the name of "Keyhole" - Google bought them out four weeks ago.
The software has been in use by the Massachusetts State Police in their mobile command center for over a year.
The New Hampshire resolution dropped quite a bit when they did a worldwide update of their databases, we've been waiting for about six weeks for them to load the higher-resolution data, though considering how much data is involved in this database, I don't blame them for taking so long.
Google Earth - what an awesome new (free) tool
Maybe you were on vacation that day.
BTT!!!!!!!
BTT!!!!!!
Unfortunately they are still missing most of Thailand. Bangkok cuts off right in the middle of the city. :(
Got it, unfortunately there's not very good coverage of my neck of the woods.
There are no limits.
Now, think about what happens when wireless broadband WiFi service blankets the nation. It gives me goosebumps to think about it. Instant traffic and weather alert updates to your car's navigation system...
Don't look at mine. I haven't mowed the lawn in a while.
LOL!!! That was my reaction, too! ;o)
Hey, WHAT IS MY WIFE DOING GETTING OUT OF THE CAR IN YOUR DRIVEWAY????
Is this the same service that the military this week said was compromising our deployments in the Middle East?
You will have the only kids on your block who can find Earth in the solar system.
(And I'm not kidding about that)
Truth be told, I was a map junkie as a kid. I needed to know where everything is. The lack of emphasis on geography in our schools today is like taking emphasis off the alphabet.
It's still in beta. There have been two upgrades already.
I got this last night after seeing it on the evening news, where they said terrorists could use it to make plans for attacks.
Not that I am planning an attack, but it was cool to see my childhood home is still standing.
These aren't real-time photos - if you look at San Jose, California, towards the south, southwest of our old home at 543 Bluefield Dr, you can see that the interchange between 85 and 87 is still being built - that was back in 2002-2003.
It seems that everyone and there mother is developing apps for it. I found an entertaining one for Area 51...
Well, that gives me something to do 'till my meeting at 1400 ;o)
