Not to be the eternal pessimist, but we are talking about the very same Republicans whose FBI files are in the hands of Hillary Clinton.  They'll stomp and bloviate a few days, then this too will fall off the surface of the planet. I hope I'm wrong, but "hope" is a 4-letter word to me when it concerns those spineless blankety-blanks.
