...Southwestern Bell has re-upped its $$ sponsorship of the annual Texas-Oklahoma showdown in Dallas. And it has changed the name slightly of what used to be the SBC Red River Shootout. For the next three years, the game will be called the SBC Red River Rivalry.

At the statesman.com, where the story originates, there is a voting poll assessing fan sentiment about the change. Ninety percent preferred the old name, "Red River Shoutout." Anybody can check in and vote.

Obviously it is the corporate wimps at Southwestern Bell who are driving this change. If I were a SWB customer, I would call them and voice my displeasure at their meddling with a great tradition.

GO SOONERS!

So...I guess now...it's the "Rivalry at the OK Corral"?

Oh, c'mon, say it: get buzzed and take a leak on Big Tex before the game. We used to entertain at the Texas Exes tent before the game, and there was always a good bet some big-gut Bubba would be passed out on his gorgeous big-haired blond trophy wife/squeeze. That's what flasks go into boots for, I guess.

I've wondered why the don't alternate locations.

As for Peterson, he's got pro written all over him. He was amazing last year for a College rookie

It's odd that you think the Yell Leaders are pretty. Having some doubts about your "lifestyle choice"?

No, *I* don't find the "yell leaders" as you like to call them, "pretty", but they're cheerleaders so I guess you must. They sure like to follow each other around and beat each other up though. They remind me of all the guys in Top Gun. "I'd ride yore tail anytime, Rooster!"
