And some people say that American made vehicles aren't any good. What these things were supposed to last 30 days I think?

If they ever find a T-32 Explosive Space Modulator, it's mine.

I lost it a few years ago.

Wait a second, people around here told me NASA was incompetent. How did they manage to land two robots on the exact spot on Mars they chose, and explore it for more than a year?

Pay dirt?

Yup...

we pay for pictures of dirt.

At least on the moon we got some crud back @ $1billion a pound.

Typical liberal cost basis for most bureaucracies.

Spirit paused to study an outcrop called Voltaire

Much the same way my car studies the back wall of my garage after I come in the house I'll bet........

I come out in the morning to go to work and it's still staring.......spooky

Wow. Did anyone else know that there were rocks, sand and ancient lava flows on mars?

Next thing you know we are going to be told there are ancient canals that could have once held water!

My God how much did this financial abortion cost us?

"The rovers' chief scientist, Steve Squyres at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, US..."

Dr. Squyres is a gentleman and a scholar who is super brilliant and super approachable to students. I arrived at this conclusion after hearing Squyres speak at a UCLA astronomy conference May 05 and after seeing him interact with students.

The Opportunity rover is looking at rocks that may have been shaped by water, according to the article above.
