Seems to me the family thrives on the media spotlight.

I doubt that very, very, very much. I'm sure that they would like to be back home very much in private with their Natalee. Going public is the only tool they've been able to use since the ALE has stymied them at every turn. They are parents who will do what is necessary to find their daughter. And good for them!

I look at Mrs. Twitty and she looks really tired. I get the feeling that she feels she has to keep on, or this case will be swept under the rug. It was mentioned on one of the news programs over the weekend that the authorities may have hoped early on that this would go away and be forgotten. If it wasn't for Mrs. Twitty's dogged pursuit, it may well have been.

You're absolutely right.

The Holloway case has all the things you listed.

If Latoyia was white and had gone missing in a tropical isle like Natalee did....she'd be on the news 24/7, too.

I've seen short blurbs about LaToyia, but nothing compared to the coverage Natalee is getting.

Seems to me that this site has been going downhill since 2000. BTW did Elizabeth Smart obviously want it? Was Chandra Levy a slut who got what she deserved? If someone doesn't go to your church, can they get into heaven?

This site has become a haven for the least common denominator.

Easy there Nov3. I used the word "thrive" in the sense that this gives them the food/motivation they need to stay alive.

Apologies sincerely.

My POV is jaundiced by the statements I see on this site that are so self righteous and insensitive I feel like a moron for staying here.

I apologize again.

I pray for this woman and family and I hope the girl is dead or found real alive soon instead of the alternative. As the mother said yesterday Natalee is either dead or has been taken off of the island. She said she could not rest until she saw her daughter's body because of the alternative of her still being alive somewhere. If my daughter was possibly a sex slave in a brothel somewhere I couldn't rest either regardless of what any of the morons here had to say about it.

It was a poor choice of words; I even did a dictionary check and it could easily have been misinterpreted. As a mother of two daughters I can not fathom the depth of pain involved and I have become even more protective. And I hope my oldest daughter passes on this gene to her two daughters.
