I just saw the maps...very interesting! How much credence do you give this or is it under the curiosity heading in your mind? What exactly is he basing his calculations (I noted the naval plate maps.)
Stan's data is objective. He processes normal temperature values and develops the over/under yellow/blue display from that info. Beyond that level of purely objective processing, Stan offers his opinion that areas of bright blue bordering on areas of bright yellow are areas of higher probability for seismic activity. He generally draws a circle around items of concern. His differential temperature maps correlated nicely to the area of the tsunami and also some recent earthquakes near Japan. It's just another tool in the quest to find some set of relationships that gives some warning before seismic activity occurs. Nobody has the market cornered with a 100% reliable approach yet.
