The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

It's hardly a unique fashion statement for a mass transit rider: a Yankees-style cap, and a "New York" sweat shirt.

But the New York Police Department is teaming with British authorities to determine whether those items were worn by suspects in the London terror cases to send a "purposeful message" to the city, according to an NYPD officials.

David Cohen, the NYPD's deputy commissioner of intelligence, raised the concern earlier this week at a security briefing for business leaders at police headquarters in Lower Manhattan.

But Bob Rasmussen lives on in spirit in 11-year-old Taylor’s song, “Beside Me to Guide Me.”

Taylor’s musical tribute – which she will perform Sept. 11 in New York at a special ceremony honoring 9/11 victims – is helping a close-knit family cope with the death of a loved and loving man. (snip)

There was talk that the truck drivers are not finger printed, except for the hazardous material special license.

I hear of the accidents in the west, they shut down the freeways for hours.

does anyone recall the talk of a truck strike a few years ago......they had planned to simply park the trucks on the freeway and walk away, side by side and block the lanes.

I think there was talk of this maybe 6 months ago.

I have heard several truckers talking, they are getting desperate with the price of gas.

In the west we are getting fires that do not have a reason to start, in the frisco area yesterday, there was a 15 acre fire, that burned a field, an eucalyptus grove and got close to a mall and apartments, by the time it was out the fire
investigators were on the scene. No reason or cause of it
that the firemen could see.

a month or so ago, it was in the Las Vegas area, at first they said 'lightning', a few days later, it was clearly being said 'unknown cause, under investigation'.

Yes, that was last year IIRC before I left. They shut down the Long Beach Freeway and one other I think. Lasted most of one morning. Some just parked their trucks there and left. Not many though, because that would be an expensive tow and impound I would think.

If anyone saw the 9-11 special last night I found it interesting how they coded the WTC before the attack as 2 sticks for the 11 and a cake and a stick for the 9. So, these clues we find along the way need to be thrown out and debated as to what they really could mean.

MamaD I found your map of the Washington area interesting, still don't know what the DC-5 could mean. I just always have the feeling when I look at maps like that the FBI probably is watching me. I hope they can tell the difference between the good lookers and the bad. lol [like, am I helping or just clogging up their system] :)
