The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Was Bomber's "New York" Shirt A Message?
Full Story

It's hardly a unique fashion statement for a mass transit rider: a Yankees-style cap, and a "New York" sweat shirt.

But the New York Police Department is teaming with British authorities to determine whether those items were worn by suspects in the London terror cases to send a "purposeful message" to the city, according to an NYPD officials.

David Cohen, the NYPD's deputy commissioner of intelligence, raised the concern earlier this week at a security briefing for business leaders at police headquarters in Lower Manhattan.

A revolver can not be (successfully)suppressed. The cylinder is open and the majority of the noise comes from that end of the barrel.
- - - - - - -- - - - - -
Huummmm hadn't given that much thought. I thought most of the sound would be pushed out the end of the barrel.

I will do an un-scientific experiment next time we go shoot.

Now that I think about it I have never notice that much of a sound difference in auto and revolver. No I don't use earplugs either. LOL

The report from firearm discharge comes from 2 things: hot gases hitting the air and the bullet breaking the sound barrier.

Since there is a slight gap between the cylinder and barrel cone of a revolver, it is impossible to suppress a revolver.

There are also sub-sonic ammo for automatics that can be suppressed.

At least, that what I've been told.

You should use earplugs, Davey. I use the foam rubber plugs and earphones.

I've never used a sound supressor, but my favorite gun store owner has mentioned that several times. He's always ragging on movies where the revolver has a silencer.

Anyways, journos usually don't know anything about guns, except that they are bad, bad, bad!

Iran's new defence minister tied to bombing that killed 241 U.S. Marines
Sun. 14 Aug 2005 - Iran Focus:

London, Aug. 14 - The nomination of a veteran commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps as the new defence minister has been greeted with calls for an investigation into his possible ties to the suicide bombing of the U.S. Marines compound in Beirut airport in October 1983, which killed 241 Americans.

Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar, a senior commander in the Revolutionary Guards, was in command of the IRGC expeditionary force in Lebanon when on October 23, 1983, at 6:22 a.m., a suicide bomber drove a large water delivery truck to the Beirut International Airport where the Marine Barracks was located. The bomber and his accomplices had hijacked the original truck on its way to the airport and sent another one, loaded with explosives, in its place.

After turning onto an access road leading to the compound, the driver rushed through a barbed-wire fence, passed between two sentry posts, crashed through the gate, and slammed into the lobby of the barracks. The huge explosion crumbled the four-story building, crushing the soldiers to death while they were sleeping.

All the windows at the airport control tower, half a mile away, shattered. A crater eight feet deep was carved into the earth, and 15 feet of rubble was all that remained of the four-story Marine barracks.

I read your comments with great interest and a sick feeling in the stomach. I'm always a tiny bit on the skeptical side until enough proof is presented.

I've been avoiding this particular issue because I - well, I just didn't want to believe that Bush is that implicated in this total crap. But facing truth is always better than believing in tooth fairies.

I will read Schlafly's comments - I highly respect and admire her intellect and her philosophy as well as personal integrity.

I just hope enough people, like me, quit hiding their heads in the sand.

Thanks. And, any more links sent my way I will read, save, and pass along when I can.

Could it be that OBL thinks that what he has planned is big enough to kill the drug market anyway?

>>>>It could be he's at the point where he doesn't care how he kills, (even with poisoned drugs) he might not need the money for arms (dirty bombs, nukes)anymore...

That's the sickening thing about it, V. Even if you sit down and explain the connections, addiction warps reason so much that the person buying the drugs can find some way to justify their habit right up until they themselves are destroyed, by the drugs or by a car bomb they financed.

"String of bomb blasts rock Bangladesh (Jamaaet-ul Mujahedin claims responsibility for 400 bombs)"

Two killed, over 200 injured in 63 districts: an Islamic group claims responsibility

String of bomb blasts rock Bangladesh

Countrywide security alert ordered, check posts installed in each district

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Panic gripped the entire nation following the series of time-bomb explosions in all the district headquarters except Munshiganj that left at least two persons killed and more than 200 others injured on Wednesday.

Of the dead, a minor boy was killed on the spot at Savar and a rickshawpuller succumbed to the injuries in Chapainababganj district in the bomb attack and over 50 seriously injured victims were undergoing treatment at different hospitals and clinics.

The authority has imposed "Red Alert" soon after the series of bomb blasts, and directed the security forces to bring the Key Point Installations (KPI) and important public places under special security arrangement.

About 400 time bombs simultaneously exploded at different important public places including court-houses, airports and government offices in 63 districts including the capital city Dhaka within 30 minutes time from 11:00 am to 11:30 am triggered an alarming situation across the country.

According to the explosive experts, the bombs were home-made and crude. The detonator, which was connected with four pencil batteries by a couple of wires simultaneously, fused the bombs within 30 minutes time, experts added.

Several high-level security officials blamed the religious extremist outfit for the co-ordinated bomb attack across the country.

Jamaaet-ul Mujahedin, an outlawed Islamist extremist outfit unofficially claimed the responsibility of the series of bomb attacks.

Police recovered some leaflets written in Bangla and Arabic along with some unexploded bombs at different parts of the city after the incident. In the 2-page leaflets, the Jamaaet-ul Mujahedin urged the government for establishing Islamic rule in the country without wasting anymore time. They also called upon the Musim Ummah to participate in their mission to make the country an Islamic Republic."

The War against Western Civilization continues....

The Islamisation of Europe

On Friday 20th May 2005 a crowd of some 300 Muslims burned a wooden cross outside the American embassy in London. This was part of a protest against the rumoured desecration of a Qur'an by American soldiers in Guantanamo Bay, during which British and American flags were also burned. Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of this event was that it was not deemed to be newsworthy, receiving little attention in the national press.

The whole scenario is reminiscent of what happens in so many Muslim-majority countries: a rumour of an insult to Islam, a violent and blasphemous anti-Christian reaction, police watching idly, and a complete lack of public interest let alone outrage. It could have been Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia or Northern Nigeria. But it was the UK.

Europe is undergoing a rapid process of change as Muslims make their presence felt in politics, economics, law, education and the media. While there is a wide range of attitudes amongst Muslims in Europe, with many who are broadly content with the status quo and just want to live their lives peacefully, others are striving deliberately to drive forward the changes.

As a result of the efforts of the latter, Europe is gradually being transformed into a society in which Islam takes its place, not just as an equal alongside the many other faith communities, but often as the dominant player. This is not purely, or even primarily, a matter of numbers, but is more a matter of control of the structures of society. It is not happening by chance but is the result of a careful and deliberate strategy by certain Muslim leaders.

Though the effects are only now becoming noticeable, the planning was done decades ago. In 1980 the Islamic Council of Europe published a book called Muslim Communities in Non-Muslim States which clearly explained the Islamic agenda in Europe. When Muslims live as a minority they face theological problems, because classical Islamic teaching always presupposed a context of Islamic dominance; hence the need for guidance on how to live in non-Muslim states. The instructions given in the book told Muslims to get together and organise themselves with the aim of establishing a viable Muslim community based on Islamic principles. This is the duty of every individual Muslim living within a non-Muslim political entity. They should set up mosques, community centres and Islamic schools. At all costs they must avoid being assimilated by the majority. In order to resist assimilation, they must group themselves geographically, forming areas of high Muslim concentration within the population as a whole. Yet they must also interact with non-Muslims so as to share the message of Islam with them. Every Muslim individual is required to participate in the plan; it is not allowed for anyone simply to live as a "good Muslim" without assisting the overall strategy. The ultimate goal of this strategy is that the Muslims should become a majority and the entire nation be governed according to Islam. (M. Ali Kettani "The Problems of Muslim Minorities and their Solutions" in Muslim Communities in Non-Muslim States (London: Islamic Council of Europe, 1980) pp.96-105) Not all Muslims would support this action plan. The more secularized are happy to become integrated within the majority society. Even amongst those who agree on the ultimate goal of creating an Islamic state, there are differences about methodology i.e. whether this should be a slow and peaceful transition, or whether it should be hastened by means of political dominance or even — say some — by violence.

good find, I think. I liked it better with my head in the sand.
This "North American community" with a "common border" is a bunch of doulble talk. I'm insulted that our own government would even consider it.

When I voted in the presidential elections, this was a non issue. It's a ridiculous notion and if this pans out to be true, we must ALL make it an issue of the UTMOST IMPORTANTANCE come election time.

This explains, in part, why Bush hasn't done more to close the borders and why the minuteman project is so controversial. Here we are still fighting to keep our borders closed to illegal immigration and with this, we face our attempts may be in vein.

Remember who we're trying to keep out of this country, this Christian country. MS-13s, flocks of M.Es comming to harm us, our way of life and to spread islam. Our great country has our gang problems but we dont have rogue militia/banditos.

This is but one more step towards the "new world order". A one world government is on the way folks.

REMEMBER THE ALAMO!!!
