No less a liberal than Frank Zappa said it best--Marxism will never, ever happen in America because people like to buy stuff. :)

the Dem is a Marine who just got back from Iraq and ran as a conservative.

I guess it depends on your idea of a conservative. He POSED as one, as in the words and the pro-military attitude, but take a look at his stands on the issues.

IIRC the voting margin difference for a recount was .25% or .50% for Ohio last November. Here the difference stands at 4% as far as I know. The Dimwits will have to do some noticably ardent manuevering to contest this one. May lose some moderates if they overdo it! heeheeheehee hardee hardee harrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

In some ways Zappa was a lot less liberal than you'd think, he was all over the place and changed on several things as he got older. But as a boss he was a fascist against alcohol and drugs. By the early '80's he had a policy of firing anyone that got high or drank on or off the job! - per my friend, Zappa's comptroller for tours.

Interesting. I know he wasn't a hardcore lib, but his comment on marxism was on the money. I'm not surprised about the alochol policy, though, I've heard about that from a number of bands. It's okay when they're young and partying, but once schedules are getting messed up because someone ELSE is doing it, and now you're the boss, things change.

I read a slew of letters-to-the-editors in the local rag by people with the same mindset. They all bemoan "what we've done" to these Islamo-fascist monsters that made them attack us. They only do a superficial job of it. They invariably mention us supporting authoritarian rulers in their benighted countries as one reason. If that's the case, why aren't we attacked by killers from Latin America and other places? Funny, but those places have few Muslims dwelling inside their borders. They all exclude the possibility that just maybe the Islamo-fascists are crazy and have no good reason except their own failed societies and a horrible interpretation of their religion.

Of course the what-have-we-done-to-them types conveniently forget our efforts on the Moslem side in Bosnia and in Afghanistan where we helped Moslems defeat the athieistic Russians.

I went over there for a laugh, and your right! The same old cr-p. But the conspiracy theories are going to a whole new level of paranoia of why they think they keep losing. One DUmmy saying we have to get rid of Diebold and go back to paper ballots cause the Bush machine'' controls diebold. Then another Dummy criticizing ,him saying, no paper ballots cause we will have no paper trail to prove their'' cheating.'' Another one claiming it's the ''HUMIDITY''. HUH!?? Another Dummy screaming we need to have all mail in ballots. But no! Thats out because Bush and Rove control the mail,.......................These people scare me! LOL!

Couldn't stay up to watch the end of this very tight race, but thanks to the Ohio Republicans who bothered to show up yesterday and to Rush, who undoubtedly helped get some people to go to the polls with his excellent commentary yesterday. Let this be a lesson for "solid Republican" congressional districts next year. Only Democrats can manufacture votes.

Funny, but those places have few Muslims dwelling inside their borders.

Don't look now, but there is a growing contingent of Muslims in Mexico and other parts of central and upper south america.

"Two questions: why was the seat open, and shouldn't the vote have had a higher Republican percentage?"

The president had placed the former rep in an administration position, and the democrat ran as Kerry-like was hero.

His campaign ads never stated that he was a democrat, but he went as far as stating that he was with the president on the war.

The funny thing is, he had previously stated that President Bush is the most dangerous man in the world, and also called the president a SOB.

It amazes me that so many people are completely unaware of politics. They voted for this guy because he allegedly states support of the war, but have no idea that he's a democrat.

I was a little worried about this one and although close it was still a solid win

Isn't this the race that was supposed to be a tell-tale of next year's elections? You know, where a democrat upsets a sure Republican victory?

If this race is a clue to next year's mid term elections, we should do just fine.

Serious question....provisional ballots are permitted in Ohio and they delayed a final count on the last election until they were dealt with. It was evident in the Bush election that the result was not close enough, given the number of provisionals, for the result to have been overturned.

With a 4000 vote lead (plus or minus) for Schmidt, my question is simply: How many provisional ballots are there? Has anyone seen any report?
