ELF and ALF both believe that (1) human life is worth no more than animal or plant life and (2) they believe that many humans who are actively "harming" beasts or the planet deserve death.

There is nothing in their philosophical outlook which rules out murder. The only reason why they refrain from murder is pragmatic: they think murder might hurt the cause.

This is a tactical measure which could be revoked at any moment.
