This morning I had the pleasure to meet Dave Holloway for the first time. It was an honor to finally meet one of Natalee’s parents. Although it was a quick hi and bye as it was off to the landfill at 7:30 this morning this morning until 5:30 this afternoon.

I did, however, have the opportunity to sit next to Natalee’s dad, Dave Holloway, at dinner this evening accompanied by the rest of the Equusearch team. Sitting next to Dave was really amazing to get to know and listen to Natalee’s dad after seeing him in so many interviews. I asked Mr. Holloway, as he was in a rush to run off to an interview, Dave what do you think is going to make a difference or make a break in this case that will turn the tide?

“First, I would like Joran to tell the truth. It is about time he did so.”

“Second I would like to think that someone or one of his friends would come forward and say what they know. There is a $100,000 reward to anyone for any information as to the where abouts of Natalee. At what cost and price is there for a friendship.”

I will say this which is lost on TV interviews. Dave Holloway is a very engaing, focused and passionate man as he was discussing many topics with me this evening. I look forward to having a more thourough interview with him in the future.

And trapenberg fired the first shot.....this is good.....a PO'd FBI speaking publicly will counter this, and serve to generate further outrage amongst Americans in general, and my hope is that Congress will form an ad hoc comittee to look at this fiasco.

this tip about the landfill came in very early in the case; the witness even took the police to the site. The police basically said they would put it on their "to do" list.

once one is arrested or "held" as a suspect, then one's home and yard, etc would be thoroughly searched...not the case.

This boggles my mind. Why didn't they get their DNA while they were holding them? Why didn't they search the whole property when they searched? It's ridiculous . . .

This might be the cistern cap (lid)

It looks like it has been painted (I would have to take a picture of my cistern caps so you can see how they look a like). Most people build planters around them once they are no longer used.

Missing teen's mother leaves Aruba - CNN

After spending two months on Aruba following the disappearance of her daughter, the mother of missing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway has returned home to Birmingham indefinitely.

Beth Holloway Twitty will return to the island if there are any developments in Holloway's case.

Meanwhile, a search of an Aruban pond has ended with no sign of the missing teen, said the lead investigator on the case.

"The search at the pond is over," Roy Trump told CNN. "It's unfortunate, of course, but there was nothing there. We're finished at the pond."

The Aruban police investigator said divers made several attempts to look at certain areas of the pond in the small amount of water remaining but did not find anything of interest.

The pond was searched because of its proximity to a spot where a witness claimed he saw the three men named as suspects in Holloway's disappearance sitting in a car.

Brothers Satish and Deepak Kalpoe and their friend Joran Van der Sloot were the last to be seen with her when she left a popular bar May 30.

Van der Sloot remains in custody. The Kalpoe brothers have been released for insufficient evidence, but they remain suspects in the case.

In addition to the pond, Trump said authorities are searching a landfill for the third time since a witness came forward shortly after Holloway disappeared.

The witness claimed he saw more than one person dump into the landfill something he believes could have been a covered body, CNN has learned from sources briefed on the investigation. The witness also gave police a license tag number that reportedly belonged to a white pickup truck.

Here is a picture of my cistern cap (on the right) - on the left is the thing that looks like a cistern cap in the sloots yard (it looks like it has been painted to match the house and may have plants or something sitting on the lid) Cisterns are normally located at the rear of the house but close to a driveway so that the water truck can bring a hose to the cistern. The concrete cap lifts off and is big enough for a adult to get into (it is about the size of a manhole).
