Well, I guess it wasn't Rove since there was a waiver.
"Rove testified he also may have heard about her from another reporter or administration official who had heard it from a reporter, but he could not recall the second source of his information, his attorney said." OK, still not Rove.
"But Cooper, writing about his testimony in the most recent issue of Time, said he "can't find any record of talking about" welfare reform. "I don't recall doing so," Cooper wrote." OK, now Cooper is lying. Per Washington Time, Rove sent contemporaneous email to Rove regarding the Welfare discussion. Per Wash Times: "Matt Cooper called to give me a heads-up that he's got a welfare-reform story coming," Mr. Rove wrote Mr. Hadley, who since has risen to the top job of national security adviser. "When he finished his brief heads-up, he immediately launched into Niger. Isn't this damaging? Hasn't the president been hurt? I didn't take the bait, but I said if I were him, I wouldn't get Time far out in front on this." http://www.washtimes.com/national/20050717-121150-3026r.htm
If WaPo and LA Times are trying to nail Cooper, they are doing a bad job.
The more I hear about this prosecutor the more i think he is incompetent.
(WaPo and LAT) "Yeah we really botched the effort, but since our intent was sincere, ya kin go ahead and frog-march Rove, cancha, huh, pretty please?" Piss on these pigs.
The famous Clinton defense, I do not recall.
"The sources said Fitzgerald looked surprised"
Nice touch, but if true, sources are cooper and his lawyer.
Welcome to the FreeRepublic. Just sign up and already posting. Impressive. How are things over at du?
All else is irrelevant.
It is very telling that the best thing Democrats have to occupy themselves with is a weak investigation (that the country couldn't care less about) which will leave them empty-handed even if they win it.
That Texas half-wit George Bush has repeatedly left these people standing around fondling themselves and he is doing it to them again.
Rove took notes, Cooper didn't. Cooper talked out of his ass to the investigators and grand jury because he is sloppy and didn't keep notes. Rove granted the waiver because he has records and notes of everyone he talks to, it's a longstanding White House rule. He has been called back by the grand jury because reporters are all telling different stories, but I'll bet Karl's accounts have been the only consistent ones. If anyone is indicted for perjury or obstruction, it isn't going to be Karl Rove.
Interesting that Cooper called through the WH switchboard that day, eh? Almost like he did not want his call to be logged directly by Rove's office. Now why would he do that?
I still believe Matt Cooper was carrying water for the Kerry campaign, via his wife. He already had the info about Wilson and his wife because Mandy gave it to him. That's who he is covering up for, his own wife. If he names her, she has to testify, and then it's all over.
This was a planned hit on the White House by the Kerry campaign. The moonbats are going to go nuts when it all comes out.
They're trying to pull a "Martha Stewart" on Rove. They can't get him for any original "crime", so they'll nail him for lying to a federal investigator or Grand Jury. In both cases, Martha and Rove, they would have walked if they just told the truth (or consulted a lawyer before talking).
Cooper appears to be lying, Russert appears to be parsing words Clintonian style and the Lamestream Media appears to be ready to eat spoiled crow.
OK lets see -you are a troll... bye bye
Welcome to Free Republic.
Looks like you've been banned or suspended. BOOOOOO HOOO.
Never forget that Cooper is married to one of Hillary's creatures, Mandy Grunwald
