Do you remember the video of the guy who was climbing out of a hole. (he was in the video that showed him carrying aroung the green piece of cloth) - briefly they showed the guy pulling himself out of a hole in the ground with a rope. Now go look at the first picture on this page. It looks like the same exact hole (cave).

Some comments on the website...

We don’t want the mines and caves to be polluted, as is the case today with Fontein and Quadirikiri Cave.

Some of these objects you need rappelling experience to get in, and in some caves you can get lost, because they're really big.

Another note: the club is made up mainly of kids under 20 years old. Was Joran part of it? - see the website.

Aruban caves: are they for sale?

"Aruba is an ancient island: much of the diabase and diorite of the middle and north hilly part of the island was formed ca 73 million years ago. It took more then 72 million years before Aruba was reached and inhabited by man…." (source: Archeological Museum)

Today, Aruba is proud to boast part of its history, the most visited caves located on the northern tip of the island, namely- Fontein, Guadirikiri, Huliba and the Baranca Sunú (Tunnel of Love), which were also formed millions of years ago by the sea strearn and current, when the island was still under sea level. The caves even serve as a source of inspiration for some Arubans, who entertain guests on our island with fictitious tales of Indians having lived in these caves and great fantasy stories about pirates using the caves as hideouts. The fact remains however that these caves have been here before any one could claim Aruba as "theirs". These gifts of nature belong to Aruba's past, present and future generation, and must be taken care of accordingly!

The Aruba Tourism Authority was happy to learn that the caves would be taken care of by the Parke Nacional Arikok, as part of the park area. They would maintain and beautify the caves and surrounding areas. Due to an inexplicable turn of events, this decision has been revoked, instead, Aruba's caves will remain in the hands of the same vendor that has exploited these caves for years.

This means that the numerous complaints we receive by locals and visitors, expressing discontent on the management of the caves will continue...and that Aruba's patrimony will be in hands of private citizens.

As a result of the article "Aruban caves are they for sale?" the Aruba Tourism Authority has received tremendous support from the media and non-profit organizations working towards protecting what's ours. One of these organizations is the Speleological Expedition Team.

The organization was born on July 30, 1996, when group of scouts, on a field trip, began considering the possibilities of exploring and "re-discovering" Aruba. Georgina Vrieswijk and Junior Rivero, two of the scouts, continued their quest of the real Aruba, even after the field trip. They visited among others the National Library, the National Archives and numerous older Arubans with hope, to find answers to their questions, about gold mining on the island.

Soon, Mr. Maikel Perez offered the teens assistance and they began exploring former mining sites. The group grew tremendously.

History, culture and nature lovers, under the presidency of Captain Orlando Quandt; of the Dutch Marines, donate their time to explore gold/phosphate mines and wells They also aid PNA in helping to keep the caves clean and free of vandalism and destruction

It makes me wonder if Joran was part of this at one time. Does he know the caves better that what the average person does on the island. Was he one of the explorers who went in these caves?

And who and why?

That is definitely Natalee AND the girl next to her on the beach photo on N's camera a few hours earlier. The intricate tops they both wore that night give it away.

Now what is this about Natalee's hair in a bun? I don't see her hair, just her upper arm and one chest area. You can see a tiny portion of the 2nd fabric in her interesting halter top at the bottom of the enlarged pic. Absolute giveaway, although the green striped fabric with the V stripes pretty much already did.

Glad to hear that she was not on top of the bar. But she is still on the stage leaning forward over the bar for some reason.

From Court TV....THe Aruban PM has invited the FBI to "FULLY PARTICIPATE" in the investigation.

Also, Investigator hired by Twitty's (TJ ?) reported natalie was drinking shots of 151 proof liquor.

"According to breaking news passed on local radio station Top 95.1 a few minutes ago, Aruban Prime Minister Nel Oduber and Minister of Justice Rudy Croes ordered all materials pertaining to the Natalee Holloway investigation to be given to the FBI.

UPDATE: As confirmed by sources at Aruba Today, the following statement has been issued by the Aruban Government:

The Government of Aruba would like to confirm by legal means necessary to guarantee the involvement of the FBI in regards to the investigation about the disappearance of Ms. Natalee Holloway. This involvement is to be all levels, which means that the FBI must have complete access to the dossier, including transcripts, audio tapes or video registration of interrogations, plus all materials that are connected to this case, in as much as our judicial system allows.

In case the current phase of investigation limits mentioned involvement, than the instruction is to use all legal means necessary to allow and even guarantee complete access to the FBI. If external expertise in reference to above is required, you are hereby authorized and instructed to do so.

Lastly, it is imperative that there should not be any doubt at all that Aruban authorities guarantee full cooperation in this case with the American authorities, as has been the case since the beginning, within the boundaries of our judicial system. (Red)"

This is one and the same photo. The enlarged stip is from the right side of the photo. Look in the big photo at Joran's shoulder/the pink headband. Look slightly to the right of that. You will see the beer bottle that is prominent in the enlargement of Natalee and friend.

The beer bottle is not in the larger picture. The object you seem to be referring to, may possibly be a liquor bottle. The beer bottle has very little white on the label and would not show up from that distance.

I am guilty of that one, prior to girlscout enhancing the pic for us. The "seatback" I thought I saw turned out to be black hair. ya jus gotta have a good pic, LOL

Oops. My tired eyes finally saw what you think is the beer bottle. However, I still do not think it is the same picture. The background does not match. BTW...there was probably more than one beer bottle there that night.
