It's either Luttig or Roberts. Any other guesses?
To: mysonsfuture
Tradesport is heavily betting it's going to be Edith Clement.

Is it Rove? He'd get my vote, except he looks too much like Porky Pig.

yes, that is what scares me. in fact, if the choice is between a bad SCOTUS judge, or firing Rove, let me be the first to say it: fire Rove.

Didn't they just have a big state dinner with the PM of India tonight? Seems odd to pick a nominee after that.

I agree that is likely.
Bush will not want a lull. Very likely he is putting forth that he wishes hearings to begin in August.

I hope they do not nominate a "mainstream" candidate as a way of appeasing the RATS and the wolves in the "media".I believe that would be called a "Neville Chamberlain Manuever."

its not Luttig. Its one of the Ediths or Garza or Gonzales. Otherwise, its somebody we've never heard of - which means its Souter II.
To: NathanBookman
I hope that it's Luttig or JRB. Who it will be is anybody's guess.

It is a good guess, woman and all, highly qualified, who has written that Roe should be well, reviewed given the "new" scientific evidence since it came down from the guy who gave mediocrity a bad name, LOL, to replace a women. As a sidebar, God, how I loathe this group representation thingie. I would, inter alia, prefer a SCOTUS that was all Jewish and male, as long as it agreed with the Constiutional interpretative preferences of this near atheist WASP moi.) But Bush is a guy who can surprise. He tends to like doing that.
