I did a feature-length documentary in '99, so these latest shorts, "Boomerang" at five minutes and "Sealed" at twelve, are much less intimidating. (Tho' I'm probably going feature-length again, or close to it, next.)
I also have great family and friends who donate time and effort to shoot and edit. These "mini-rants" of mine wouldn't be realized without them.
But, in this day and age, the only thing that stops anyone from doing this kind of stuff is failure to believe in one's own vision. The technology required is abundant, and can be affordable. What's tougher to come up with is confidence in, and commitment to, one's own idea. I've been blessed to have people around me who said, "Yes! It's hilarious! Do it!"
