Everybody cites the studio location for the transmitter location; the two, these days, are rarely the same*.

When you go for the interview, you'll notice the abscence of a 1/2 wave vertical radiator (about 600' or 192 degrees electrical length to be specific) anywhere near the studios. The studios of WBAP (and KSCS) moved east from where they were on Broadcast Hill (3900 Barnett or so) to Arlington; at this new location it almost straddles the county line.

The transmitter facility is SE of Fort Worth in SE Tarrant county.

See?

* Some of the lowered-power mom and pop operations may be co-located, but with the plethora of STL options open today this doesn't have to be the case as it once was ...

No, I know that most studios aren't co-located with their transmitting antenna. However, based on the incorporated lines of Arlington, I think that antenna is still within city limits. If that map you posted is where the antenna is located, it looks like Arlington to me.

In any case, it can't be more than 10-15 miles away from the studio, and if farther west than the studio, it only makes my point stronger, in that the WBAP listening range extends from that point all the way east past Tyler even in the daytime.
