>What's so disturbing about our leftist celebrities lecturing us

What's disturbing is
they use the job -- being known --
to preach politics.

How would they enjoy,
say, going out to eat and
having the waitress

lecture them about
her politics? These damn stars
are just thoughtless nuts.

Entertainers wrongly assume their fame, money and influence arise from broad knowledge rather than natural talent, looks or mastery of a narrow skill.

or, more likely, a machinery engaged in the promotion of some seemingly attractive feature or gift.

OK, so they didn't complete formal education. Neither did J.R. Simplot or Albert Einstein -- don't make me get out the list.

It isn't their lack of education that makes them idiots, it's their abundance of hubris.

"I don't like Bush. I don't trust him. I don't like his record. He's stupid. He's lazy."

Lazy??? What a stupid b*tch this wretch is. Why run laps around Camp David when you can liposuction your ass so much that you can't sit down for six months, and inject your lips with plastic sh*t until they look like two Goodyear blimps, eh Cher?

I think there's some merit to Gere's comments. I think speaking a a Christian we cannot lose site of the fact we should show sinner compassion, not understanding, but love. Where I think Gere goes off track though is that he implies that in doing so we should not do everything we can to protect our loved ones and countrymen against attacks by terrorists. Though many died in Iraq really it is a mission of love in that we are rebuilding their country, removing an opressive evil regime and giving them a westernized market, infrastructue, and rule of law. Those are the tools that will help Iraq free itself from the rule of evil. It is love and compassion for our enemies.

VDH misses one important point. Follow the money. These are not just Americans, they are international stars with a worldwide audience. When you take a look at revenue from Hollywood movies and American artist music CDs, much of it comes from international sales. It pays to be anti-American or at least, anti-Bush.

"If you can see [the terrorists] as a relative who's dangerously sick and we have to give them medicine, and the medicine is love and compassion. There's nothing better."

If you can see the terrorists as an infection that is polluting the species, and we have to eradicate them, and the medicine is tincture of fulminating Semtech, there's nothing more gratifying than seeing some raghead explode in a pink mist.
