Ok, so, laying aside the Clinton treason for the moment, the fact exists that China has this technology now. If just this info can be put together to come up with the worrying conclusions seen above by the public, how much more info must the Government have which is not public, to generate an even more detailed report. Given that, what is the administration doing about this? They can't be simply sitting on their hands hoping it will go away. Bush must know that, terrorism aside, this threat is real and will eventually have to be dealt with.

So, we have the Chinese with the capability to launch one missile that produces a large enough EMP to allow them to lob the other 19 or so missile at us with impunity. We can certainly match them 10 times over for sheer destructiveness, but that won't make the craters on US soil any smaller. Certainly, any conflict with China isn't going to involve much in the way of a land war, so the condition of our ground troops isn't as much of an issue as some would make it. However, just what do we have in place that would give the PLA and PLAAF second thoughts about pulling something like this?

As much as big weapon systems get derided as wastes of money for pie-in-the-sky results, we may need more than a few on our side if we want to keep this situation from escalating.

I agree. I have read through the entire congressional commission report that I linked here, and the information contained in that report alone is terrifying.

Like you, I would imagine that, if this report is public information, classified information has got to be much more powerful and ominous.

Exactly! And as I said in an earlier post, China is not nearly as concerned about its own civilian casualties as we are, and, without blinking an eye, would sacrifice millions.

I disagree. If the Chinese can effectively bluff us...or if they go through with it and both countries are severely impacted...their planning will have taken both options into account. They will move on Taiwan...and if successful...IMHO, on other areas in the region to secure the strategic points that will defend and assure the massive flow of resources they require. They will use ground troops to ensure this and protect it.

We will, ultimately, have to use gorund troops, to dislodge them if they ever "break out" They are showing all the signs and making all of the statements that indicate they plan on doing so.

In addition to more nukes, we should resume work in offensive biological weapons (kinda hard for the PLA to function when all of its troops and crewers are dying of an illness). We need to be able to hit them so hard that they would not even think about making a move against us.
