The Power of Rice (Condi vs. Hillary, 2008)
National Review Online's The Buzz ^ | June 14, 2004 | Eric Pfeiffer

The Power of Rice

The Hotline also polled on some questions concerning 2008. In their poll, Hillary Clinton has a positive approval rating of 48 to 44 percent.

By contrast, Condoleezza Rice has a 59 to 25 percent approval rating.

By an overwhelming percentage of 85 to 9, respondents said they would be comfortable supporting a female candidate for the White House. And by a greater margin, 86 to 4 percent, participants said they would vote to support an African-American candidate who was well qualified.

Rice also strongly outpolls Clinton on all national security questions: who is stronger on national security issues, ability to handle an international crisis, ability to protect the U.S. from a terrorist attack, ability to manage Iraq and ability to be a “strong and decisive” leader.

For more on Rice, please check out my NRO piece today.

Giuliani, Rice and Arnold

Win a poll? Sure. Win the primaries? Not a chance. Win the general election? Not likely.

Note that the two issues that drove voters to the polls last election were marriage and abortion. Our side has the upper hand on those issues. Weak GOP candidates on values issues don't stand an chance.

Nor SHOULD they.

Is Schlafly a nutcase?

Reagan didn't think so.

Read her article at post 6.

After you read that(it's only 8-10 short paragraphs)
if you don't think it's serious then excuse me for posting to you.

If you do, look at more.

There's a lot of there, there.

I would think with an id like "condi4prez.com" you would want to leave a better impression of those who endorse Condi Rice.
Dr. Rice, I am sure, would deplore your ad hominem attacks, mockery and slurs. Your comments to gillman were very rude, your remarks about Mrs. Schlafly were despicable.

"MORE IMPORTANTLY, HE WAS NOT BORN IN THIS COUNTRY. Keep your copy of the Constitution handy."

Nothing against Arnold. I wouldn't vote for him for Pres either, but in California everything is relative, and when you consider him against Boxer and Pelosi, Arnold IS a conservative.

But to your point of the Constitution, I am in 100% agreement. IMO it's not a good idea to even consider changing it so that someone born elsewhere could be President.

And if I didn't already hold that opinion, I would have changed my thinking real quick when Maddy Halfbright came down in support of changing that part of the constitution.

Section9,

I want to apologize for mucking up your thread. Please forgive my Daneliness. I'm having a rough day in the outside world.

Maybe I am going loony.

I think Condoleeza Rice is as good as we could hope for.

If she were to run against the Evil, I would vote for Ms. Rice.

If a person truly understands and supports the second Amendment they must be reachable on the rest of the Bill of rights. I've taken a chance on far worse prospects.

Thank you for your understanding.

first of all...If it came down to it I dont think Condi could beat the Beast and secondly I dont like her views and comments about Israel, though she is better than Powell.

Well, she's not as "pure" as I could like a conservative to be, but we'll have to look at the options. I think she'd be a tad more conservative than Hillary!

As far as POTUS '08, Rice is out of the picture.
If Rice were to be the candidate v. Hillary - no contest - Hillary wins, and probably in an electoral landslide.

Gipper08...Never mind this, C. Rice won't be running.

How about Arnold for Vice?

NO for two reasons: First he's a FREAKIN' RINO who'll send the country down the tubes (everybody disarmed first) if he get's into the Oval and Second he'll never get that far because his candicacy would be in itself unconstitutional.

I still think that sometime in 2006, VP Cheney will step aside for health related or family related reasons and Condi will move into the VP slot. Then she'll get some high visibility management responsibilities.

What more would I ask?

I would ask that she be able to skate on thin ice.

How has she done with that?

I no longer support Condi for anything, due to her...

Bull! You never supported her for anything from the start, and you know it.

I always did, due to her posititon on the second amendment.

The CFR thing really bothers me.
Cheney is in that club too, which I find hugely distressing.

I once hoped for a Cheney/Rice ticket as the number one best thing.

Now I'm not so sure.

Go read the Schlafly article, just for the heck of it.

I dare you.

This bumper sticker has adorned my car for months. Obviously, I would love to have Condoleezza Rice as our President, due to her qualifications and capabilities. She would continue to lead us very well. However, Dr. Rice's personal desires should be respected, so an entry into the race for President should be 100% her choice. If football is her dream, then "Condoleezza Rice for football commissioner!" (But, selfishly, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she'll consider continuing in a leadership position for our country.)
