The non partisan Joe Wilson lectured before the war against removing Saddam.
The title of his lecture was( he's since changed it ):
" Iraq, Disarmament or Conquest, The Case Against Regime Change."
His January 22, 2003 lecture delivered at UCSB is on tape and used to be available from the Humanities Center .
I found these quotes from billhobbs.com who downloaded the speech from a webpage, that has since purged the speech.
Hobbs thinks Wilson sounds anti semitic.
" Ever since the first Gulf War] there has been a small cabal of zealots in Washington who have been driving an agenda designed to overthrow Saddam Hussein, not because he has weapons of mass destruction,
not because he may or may not be linked to terrorism,
but because they want to establish a beachhead in the Arab world from which to work to change the political map of the Arab world and
essentially ensure Israel 75 more years of security by enfeebling the Arab governments that are arrayed against it."
" We need to remember in all of this that Iraq did not build weapons of mass destruction because the United States was an enemy -
Iraq built weapons of mass destruction because it was surrounded by a nuclear armed Israel.. "
" Saddam or no Saddam, there is still going to be a desire amongst the national security apparatus to have weapons that allow a relatively small population to defend itself against larger rapacious neighbors and aggressive neighbors."
Hobbs says Wilson is calling Israel rapacious and aggressive.
Perhaps Chuck Schumer will be asked to comment on Wilson's anti war, anti Israel lecture series.
Sounds like a good plan to me.
A former ambassador, Wilson is well known (not) for his awesome grasp of geography, isn't he? Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, huh...
