The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Another video shows former Tampa professor calling for jihad

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A former Florida university professor accused of aiding Palestinian terrorists was seen on a video Wednesday exhorting an Islamic audience “to adopt the choice of jihad.”

It was the second video shown to a federal trial jury in which since-fired University of South Florida engineering professor Sami Al-Arian called on a Muslim audience to engage in religious warfare. Another speaker asked the crowd to donate money to equip “a holy warrior.”

Telephone Transcripts Introduced In Al-Arian Trial

The Tampa Tribune

TAMPA - Prosecutors began introducing transcripts of wiretapped telephone conversations and faxes in the Sami Al-Arian trial on Wednesday.

The conversations and faxes were not read or displayed to the jury by the afternoon lunch break, as attorneys spent much of the morning arguing outside the presence of jurors over the admissibility of the exhibits.

The time spent in front of the jury was mostly taken up by Assistant U.S. Attorney Cherie Krigsman laying a foundation with government translator Tahsim Ali, trying to establish how he identified speakers in each conversation.

Outside the presence of the jury, U.S. District Judge James S. Moody granted a request by Kevin Beck, an attorney for defendant Hatim Naji Fariz that he strike a reference by Fariz in one conversation to the United States as ``the great Satan,'' a phrase Beck said was highly inflammatory.

Killer in the classroom

POLICE believe that they have identified the British-born man who masterminded the suicide bomb attacks on London. It also emerged yesterday that one of his recruits was a primary school teaching assistant.

The leader of the terrorist cell is believed to be in his thirties and of Pakistani origin. He arrived at a British port last month and is understood to have left the country the day before four suicide bombers murdered at least 52 people.

I'll bet not everyone knows who was instrumental in bringing in all those Salvadoran thugs. We can all thank Cardinal Roger Mahoney for this problem. I'll have to research a little to refresh my memory on the specifics of his involvement in bringing them here in the '80's.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "An Italian court has jailed two North Africans convicted of being part of a cell plotting attacks in Italy.

Moroccan imam Mohamed Rafik received four years and eight months, while Kamel Hamroui was sentenced to three years and four months.


The court in Brescia also jailed Najib Rouass for 16 months on lesser charges.


They are the first convictions in Italy under international terrorism laws that were introduced after the 11 September 2001 attacks in the US."
