The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

It's what I've noticed. i could be wrong but thursday is an odd time for a video. IMO. could be a wrong observation but its a hunch and i'll stick to it.

Off topic.....Dr. Laura just came on, I am proud of her.

For years she introduced herself as her sons mom.

She now introduces herself with " I am an American Soldiers
Mom".

Nope, I am not a listner of hers, but thought she deserved credit.

With every tic of the clock we are closer to an attack of somekind. Do they have enough confidence in their capabilities here to attack here, or will they try to stay within a more relatively 'safe' zone and attack American foreign interests? The fact that Zawahri is coming out with a video so closely to the June and clothing differences plus the time difference from 9/11 have me on edge. Lull the Americans into a false sense of security and strike. I am more concerned with a conventional series of attacks than I am a nuke. They pull that genie out of the bottle, it'll be hard to put it back.

Yea, it's brutally hot here in N.Va. too. I increased the amount of water I keep in the car when this heat wave started.

My alert status has been increased since the 7/7 London bombings. Nothing more I can do. I refuse to worry because that does no good. If I didn't have supplies I'd be worried. Being prepared lowers my stress level.

My advice: Make sure your supplies and gear, stay alert, and relax. Outside of preparing and being aware of your surroundings, there's nothing we can do.

Sunday, Dec. 7, 1941. IIRC Aug. 7th is the 60th anniversity of Hiroshima. That freaks me out.

Ayman al-Zawahri, the al-Qaida second-in-command whose voice was heard on audiotapes broadcast this week on Arab television, has made 10 similar public statements in the past six years, five of which were followed within three weeks by deadly terrorist attacks, an NBC News analysis shows.

In two cases, the attacks came within three days of the broadcast of audiotapes or videotapes attributed to al-Zawahri. In both those instances, more than 200 people were killed.

U.S. intelligence officials, who spoke with NBC News on condition of anonymity, said they cannot definitively link al-Zawahri’s statements to the subsequent attacks. But they said that U.S. security officials take seriously any such pronouncements by Osama bin Laden’s right-hand man and study them for any possible “go signals” they might contain instructing al-Qaida operatives to carry out terrorist attacks.
