Liberals: the Real Targets of Terrorism
Dozens of Londoners perished as a result of the most recent terrorist attacks, and that's a tragedy. The fact that these innocent British civilians are not the real targets of terrorism makes their deaths even more tragic. Al-Qaida and their ilk know very well who their targets are, and it's ultimately not civilians. The Muslim terrorists aim their carnage and destruction at those most predisposed to assist their cause: anti-war pacifists, progressives, socialists, academic apologists, and left-wing media. In a word: liberals.
The name of the game is propaganda, and the terrorists understand this. They're not engaged in a military campaign in the conventional sense. They know fighting the U.S. military is a war they can't win. The terrorists must certainly understand that the president's position is resolute and hasn't changed since 9-11. The terrorists also understand that their only viable strategy has always been about winning hearts, minds, and sympathy for their demented cause.
Terrorists understand liberals better than liberals understand themselves. The terrorists understand that liberals are malleable and sympathetic. It is they who the terrorists are trying to influence. Al-Qaida has aimed its attacks where it will do the most good. They know that public opinion is where this war is being fought. Terrorists know that their only chance for victory is to influence the appeasers-naïve, weak-minded liberals who believe that understanding the motives of suicide bombers is the key to peace
So let us remember that every time a suicide bomber blows up, it's an atrocity aimed at the New York Times, the ACLU and MoveOn.org. Every time an innocent person dies at the hands of terrorists, it's people like Dick Durbin, Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi and Ted Kennedy who are the intended targets.
The Mainstream Media will continue to criticize Bush's war on terrorism. Liberal American politicians will continue to howl about Bush's failed policies. And the Area 51 leftists on the fringe will concoct a whole new battery of kook theories.
Liberals all over the world will blame the U.S. for the London attacks. Meanwhile, the terrorists will have gotten the sympathetic reactions they wanted. And they will be satisfied knowing they have successfully hit their targets once again.
So true. So sad.
This couldn't be more on target. Viet Nam taught us that it isn't necessary to defeat American infantry, you only have to rattle the news writers. And thats not hard, they're easily rattled, and they are already on your side anyway.
Opportunistic politicians will do the rest.
Its a pattern that is being pursued today, and its the magic bullet that guarantees that America is finished as a military power. Gallons of ink have been invested analyzing China's military might, which completely misses the point. To defeat the US, you don't have to defeat its troops. You just have to elect Democrats, and write the headlines.
In the liberal mind, without Israel, the terrorists will have no reason to terrorize anyone. It isn't true, of course. But that is what liberals who support terrorists believe.
I think one the reasons and probably the main reason that the U.S. hasn't seen even a single car bomb attack (the coin of the realm in Baghdad) is because it would hurt the liberal agenda in this country. al-Qaeda had to be surprised by the intensity, depth and longevity of the American response to 9/11. The last thing they need is a ramp up of the WOT by the Americans. And a followup attack would give more power to Bush's argument that we are in a war that we have to win and would hurt the liberal sing song that this is all the result of our illegal, immoral war in Iraq. I think the leaders of al-Qaeda understand that and so attacking our allies and trying to weaken the coalition is a much better tactic. That leaves the Libs of America free to complain about Iraq the terrorist breeding ground and to continue to criticize Bush. It is an argument that would fall on deaf ears if it had been LA instead of London that was hit yesterday.
PRESS AND WORLD PEACE
By Anon
The press has described me as an unconventional warfare specialist, guerilla fighter, and counter-terrorism expert
among other things. If I worked for your enemy, youd call me a terrorist.
In The Art of War, one of the fundamental treatises of warfare, Sun Tzu defines victory in psychological terms. Your enemy is defeated when his will is defeated.
Terror is a method of warfare, a psychological method designed to defeat the will of your enemy.
Terrorists very consciously use the media as conduits, as force-multipliers, to strike their real target the will of their enemy.
Think of it terrorist acts killing people by tens and dozens, even hundreds bringing down a building or derailing a train these acts have no real military significance they in themselves do not defeat nations.
Terrorism is theater. When a terrorist sets off a bomb, hes staging a production, making a video
booms, bangs, smoke, fire, body parts, grief and anger ready-made dramas for the mass market. These are the terrorists real bombs, their weapons of mass destruction
.And the press delivers them. The press carry the big guns in a terrorist war but the terrorists pull the trigger.
So, ladies and gentlemen of the press, the terrorists of the world thank you for your support.
Been saying this for a long long time. Glad I'm not alone.
It's so true. I was talking to some Navy guys during fleet week and they all complained how the military is being limited by PC and liberal policies. The Libs are the only shot the terrorists have to beat us.

This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author 100% to feel the need to share an article.) I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of good stuff that is worthy attention. You can see the list of articles I pinged to lately on my page.
Besides this one, I keep separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson, Orson Scott Card, David Warren and Lee Harris (sometimes). You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about).

The good news is that all the targets for the terrorists' nukes (when they get them, which they eventually will...) are blue.
