Why won't the State department give him a visa? He hasn't been convicted on anything. Imagine some liberal state department twerp wringing his/her hands over potentially violating the civil rights of Urine. He will come in - they better watch him!
The Dutch mother (Joran's) is one of those who does not deserve the name, 'Mother.' You see them all the time -- "He was such a nice little boy. I cannot believe my little Tommy did this." Scott Peterson's mom believed in him til the end. It is sick and disgusting. And I believe it is where the kids first learn that they are never to blame.
I think if Natalee's mother is sued, she will be massively supported by people in this country. In fact, does anyone have contact info for her?

Your husband is right (sorry). Women are the civilizers. It is part and parcel of the Judeo-Christian Worldview. JC religion elevates women, protects children, channels mens' energy into protecting their families and building a civilization. Women are the moral heart of the family.

I agree... you cannot help but feel like how would they behave if their sons were missing??? Would they blame America? Would they speak out against our LE if we did something like that? Their comments against Beth infuriate me! (especially since she is my friend).
That story makes me weak in the knees... if that is true that he had a bruised face and was hard to wake up... then.. there is no doubt that he is being protected. They have no laws ruling out hearsay, so what is that about? UGh.. I fully understand Beth's frustrations with this investigation, and wish someone would follow up that story!!!!
I would hate to be in Beth's shoes. Can you imagine reaching out to fellow freepers for help and support?
The majority would offer unconditional support, to be sure.
But there would be the contingent who would insist upon never letting an opportunity pass to point out "Personal Responsibility."

I was wondering about that. If I was up all night, doing who knows what, I'd be dozing off in class the next day, for sure.
I have to work myself up to go to Scared Monkey. I get sidetracked by the hate the US crowd and the aruba crowd who are at times ugly. But most people are pretty decent.
Anyway if I get the stomach for it I will go search the link. Interesting Aruba Girl has a connection to the Merriweather guy and it was his grandson I do believe who was accused by Joran of killing his pet dog and throwing it in a pond or something. Then Joran admitted it. Iwish I knew if it was an accident or an intentional killing.
I am thinking that Joran has a reputation on the island for misdeeds and he is being protected. And the smear of Nat has begun in earnest. It just sickens me to no end.
I wondereed about the bruised face. Surely if he had one, Beth would have noticed it the night they went to his house.
So that makes me wonder, if he indeed had one, who gave it to him.
I wonder if Beth or any of those in the group that went to the VDS's home the first night noticed his face.
And he killed his dog in the recent past and tried to blame another kid for it.
Well that's just frightening. I haven't been of the opinion that Joran's a psychopath but if this story is true it changes my view completely.
Well Gary, they have to go do those things when the women don't do their job. Those red chinese Mothers really goofed full time.
If you think about it, when women are weak, the men go crazy. Look at the Taliban. Those women were isolated from their male children who were removed very early from the women. And see how they turned out!
But when things go wrong, they have to get their vests, etc, and go clean up the place.

I did not feel as safe there this time and am very glad I cancelled my upcoming trip. I will not be going back anytime soon until they have the answers. I was glad to leave yesterday.
For 3 days, they had special F-16's from the Netherlands flying over island. They are 35 days too late. The sea does not give up it's dead. They had 200 protestors downtown with signs wanting the media and the Holloways to go away. They are taking their anger out on her now because she is making them look at the new reality on the island. No longer is it fantasy island. It is ruining their tourism business and will continue to do so until Aruba comes to grips with what REALLY happened there. They printed some of this in the Aruba News Today paper. Some signs said for Americans to stay home. The next day they reprinted the story changing it all around with only one picture of a sign saying the media is unfair and it was NOT a protest, to cover up the previous story from the day before.
It would be much more convincing that Aruba really cares about their guests (who put food on their tables by the way) by seeing 2000 Arubans PROTEST their government's/police handling of the whole situation and demand answers NOW!!! Demand some resignations and demand some changes in your law sytem. It needs some updating. Maybe those police who ride around the beach all night on ATV's did something to Natalee? Is that what they may be hiding and what they may be afraid of? Are they involved with VDS's?
It is deplorable what they are doing/not doing and letting anyone out of jail!! Charge them with littering if you have to, just keep them in.
I saw one missing poster of Natalee with pictures hanging on a pole at check in at the Divi Aruba resort. There were 2 cut out pictures of Natalee taped to a board in lobby of Tamarijn but nothing was said about what the pictures were for. There was one missing poster taped to a pole at entrance of Carlos and Charlies. HOWEVER, it had been "mutilated" shall I say with a pen. The next day the poster was gone from Carlos and Charlies when we were showing some friends from England where it was. Did not see any other posters anywhere in our travels around the island.
I overheard a couple of young American girls going through the Divi lobby saying the bartender told them she was missing because she ran away. Such baloney. And I suppose the people in jail doing all the lying are just there for the fun of it all too.
One Aruban thinks it is all just a laughing matter as he told me he thinks they will be selling T-shirts soon that say "Murdered in Aruba". I did not laugh. The 7 people with me at the time were furious and wanted to go back and "teach him a thing or two". I got them to just leave the store.
Arubans appear to be unable to cope with this and just want to run away and hide. That may tell you why nothing is happening there and nothing will. All these jets and search team requests weeks later are just for show. They DROPPED the ball on June 1st when all this should have been happening THEN. They DROPPED the ball by not forcing their way in to the Kalpoe and VDS homes and cars for evidence THEN. They could have had Natalee alive or dead THEN. It was Natalee's mother who found the 3 boys, not the police THEN! After a couple of days of helping and coming up with nothing in a search, the Arubans have DROPPED their interest and just want the spotlight to go away so the tourists will keep coming back and spend their money. It is all about the money.
So today, I am DROPPING Aruba from my list of places to visit.
I don't want a family member to go missing there because they will all just hide in the closet then too. I won't be able to agree with them that my 87 year old mother ran away on one of those 500 boats that waits at 3 AM. Anything can happen here at home, but at least the police and authorities admit to something going on and search THEN.

Me too. I thought he was an impulsive kid with a short fuse, a bully maybe. The shoving matches with the Alabama kids and the throwing a kid through a window rumor. And he drank, had no limits, gambled, snuck out of the house. I thought he was just a teen acting bad.
But I wonder. His silence, his cockiness, his smirks in the police van. It just doesn't go with a cocky teen.
I wonder if the dog story is true. Aruba Girl swore by it and she seems pretty honest.
