First Suspect in July 21 Bombings Charged
London jihad update from AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
LONDON (AP) - Police charged a 23-year-old man Wednesday with withholding information about the failed July 21 bombing attempts targeting London's transit system, making him the first person in Britain to face criminal charges in the attacks.
The charge alleges that Ismael Abdurahman, from southeast London, "had information he knew or believed may be of material assistance in securing the apprehension, prosecution or conviction of another person in the UK for an offense involving the commission, preparation or instigation of an act of terrorism."
He allegedly learned that information sometime between July 23 and July 28. Abdurahman will appear before Bow Street Magistrates in London on Thursday, police said.
The bombs set on three subway trains and a double-decker bus only partly detonated and did not cause any injuries. The attacks came two weeks after four suicide attackers detonated bombs on three subway trains and a double-decker bus, killing 52 other people.
British police have arrested 37 people in connection with the July 21 attacks, and on Wednesday were still holding 16. They released one detainee Tuesday. Police say those still in custody include three of the failed bombers.

Three ways to make us all safer (Red Ken Livingston) -- One sure way to make us all safer would be to stop electing left-wing Useful Dupes like Red Ken - then civilized countries could have far more vigorous and consistent policies of waging war against the Islamo-fascists through to VICTORY, for the alternative is unthinkable (except to bozos like Red Ken).

I kind of like the shape of this charge. Gen. McCaffery might say "It'll go right through a very militant Islamic country like an Iran from one side right out the other side." It's got "Welcome to Paradise" written all over it.

Watch it, the Brits did not die, they were wounded, but they opened fire on the jihadis and got the hell out of there.
This is the kind of attack that impressed Reuters today.

LONDON, England (CNN) -- A leader at a mosque visited by one of the London July 21 bombing suspects says he warned police that Hamdi Issac was dangerous more than two years ago.
An elder at the Stockwell Mosque in south west London says he wrote to a senior police officer urging him to help deal with a group of young people who had been "harassing" and intimidating the moderate Muslims.
Toaha Qureshi, one of the mosque's Trustees, told CNN that Issac -- the alleged Shepherds Bush attempted bomber currently fighting extradition from Italy -- was a prominent member of the group.
Qureshi told CNN that mosque officers had made it clear they regarded 27-year-old Issac as a threat and a destabilizing force.
"We were having problems with a group which was trying to take over the mosque," he said -- adding that Issac was part of that group.
"That group was trying to intimidate and harass the management committee."
Qureshi said the letter, written to Deputy Borough Commander of Brixton Police Malcolm Tillyer, on July 24, 2003, said the gang had been "inciting racial and religious hatred in the community."
The letter complained that the group were spreading extremist literature and views, and had been targeting moderate leaders of the mosque for abuse.
