I hate the yuppie scum in the Wastechester Mall. A truly snobby bunch of rotten miserable yentas if I ever seen any!

What happened at the Galleria also happened at MY childhood mall, Green Acres in Valley Stream, NY. Pretty cool place to hang out in my youth that has now become the mall of choice for the thugs of South Jamaica. We stopped going after a neighbor was carjacked and there was a shootout at the mall's movie theatre.

Reminds me of Chris Rock's old dictum about their being two types of malls: the mall where white people shop and the mall where white people USED TO shop.

Lived on Belmont and 189th, then Lorillard Place, while studying at Fordham. Morris Park is still OK (though probably in a slow decline, you would know better than me)I understand, although Van Nest has gotten really bad over the past 10-15 years.

Where my parents live in South Florida, they effectively banned certain headgear and throw out groups of teens that loiter without shopping. This has kept the thug element at bay, although Town Center (Boca Raton) is a mirror image of Wastechester, Yenta clientele and all.
