Schumer Demands Rove Speak Up About Leak (PLEASE SOMEONE GIVE SCHUMER SOME WORK TO DO!)

Sen. Charles Schumer, D-NY, called Sunday for Deputy White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove to personally deny leaking the name of a CIA official.

Saturday, Rove's lawyer, Robert Luskin told The Washington Post Rove had not disclosed the name of Valerie Plame to Newsweek in a 2003 interview.

Sunday, Schumer, who led the push for a Congressional inquiry into the leak, issued a challenge for Rove to speak for himself.

"We've heard it from his lawyer, but it would be nice to hear it directly from Mr. Rove that he didn't leak the identity of Valerie Plame, and that he didn't direct anyone else to do such a dastardly thing," Schumer said in a statement. "I have said from the first day ... whoever leaked the classified information should be punished to the full extent of the law."

The panel is investigating the leak of Plame's name to various news outlets in 2003. It is a federal crime for a government employee to reveal the name of an undercover operative after the employee learns it from classified material.

You betcha. And the House and Senate would gain some reliably Republican seats. Sounds good to me. And I'm a Dem :)

The Dems political plan must be for the states to elect the most obnoxious Senators. The entries to be judged at a Wellstone Memorial-type get together. Here in New York we feel that we have the favorites in Schumer/Clinton. Vermont boasts Leahy/Jeffords. Massachusetts enters Kennedy/Kerry. California puts forward Boxer/Feinstein.Am I missing any strong entry?

Isn't is amazing what kind of congress critters come out of the 5 boroughs? Yikes.

It just seems that there are more wacky ones per square mile. Mine is no prize for sure though and he might as well be from NYC.

It's urban life. Folks get used to not have having to do for themselves and rely on sucking from the government teat instead. But I have hope now that more folks seem to be bugging from the cities. It ain't a coinkydink that the blue bits are shrinking...

Its all BS but its just more of the same.

The BIG story is how DeLay took some trips paid by a fundraiser and the SPIT HITS THE FAN, until we find out its all over the place and the mostly done by democrats.

Now this story is a HUGE deal that someone was 'outed', yet didn't John Kerry (served in Vietnam) do the SAME EXACT THING during the Senate Hearings on Bolton.

I remember the witnesses calling people "Mr Smith" and all, yet sKerry used the name at least twice. I think some other dem did too... might have been Biden.

No one batted an eye at it.

Typical...

There will be voter fraud like we have never seen before.

How do I register my deceased parents?

We're gonna need to level the playing field, LOL.
