Sure, they could plea bargain to find out where the boy is. Assuming, I guess, that they would be charging him w/ kidnaping the girl. I know others would disagree, but I'm not big on bargaining for a lesser sentence if all they are doing is trying to find a body. I'd rather see him put to death.
It's very weird though, that they found her, and not Dylan. If Dylan can't be found (Duncan's sex of preference), why is he letting Shasta walk around, to be seen? Then again, maybe he's not so picky about whether his victim is of a particular sex.
Still, this case is certainly not typical in any way.

I dunno. All he needed to do was hold one of the kids hostage, say, a knife to the throat, and I suspect the family would let themselves be tied up, or tie each other up on the orders of the guy. Once they were tied up, he could do anything to them.

There are several sites on this guy. I think you're seeing the resume site. There is another about his molesting, although not extensive. The site I mentioned is yet another... the one the police talked about where he actually advocates no penalties for molesters. For not hearing anything for all these weeks there is all of a sudden very much information on this guy.

I'd love to know his reasons for saying that molesters shouldn't be punished (other than the fact that he IS one, of course!).
