Someone suggested last week that Janice Rogers Brown would be a perfect replacement for O'Connor. She maintains the female seat on the court, and the Democrats would have a hard time calling her too "extreme" since they just allowed her confirmation to the appellate court to proceed a couple of weeks ago.

I agree. Put her on the court and I am thrilled. You are replacing a woman with another woman, a white with an African American, and a moderate with a conservative. A home run.
