Luttig's "rabbi", the one that would shepherd him through the confirmation process, would be none other than VA Sen.John Warner, who could appeal to the Chaffees, Snowes etc to join the herd Verrrrrry Interesting...

The Dems allowed her confirmation a few weeks ago
You're forgetting the language of the "memorandum of understanding" ... filibuster only in "extreme circumstances." I promise you Ted The Swimmer Kennedy will view a SCOTUS nomination as an extreme circumstance.

IS ANYBODY WATCHING TRENT LOTT?
HE WAS THE RINGLEADER OF COWARDLY CABAL?
FNC is already indicating the "gang of 14" will be the ultimate deciders.

sorry, loaded with nukes and ready to annihilate, lately.
I was on the nugent thread, that may have been one of the contributing factors to my "edginess" lately.

All of this boils down to Roe v. Wade. No one short of Vlad Lenin will be acceptable for the left side of the Senate. Marx my words.

Also:
I'd love to see Nelson (NE) and Landrieu and Sheets try to stop a conservative judge. It might just get us over to 60.
And yes I know Landrieu isn't up until 2008 but the Vitter victory of '04 has her scared down to her brown roots.

Dan, would be nice if Michigan actually donated someone good to the cause of justice for a change. ;) I've had more than my fill of Jenny Granny.

MSNBC reports Bush will not announce a nominee until after the G8 summit.

If FNC thinks that the gang of 14 will be the ultimate deciders, they're on drugs.

Why will Warner be Luttig's "rabbi"? Because they're both in Virginia?

FNC is already indicating the "gang of 14" will be the ultimate deciders.See my #807. The Dems in the gang of 14 would be loathe to tow the Kennedy/Reid/Boxer line for fear of losing their seats.

MSNBC reports Bush will not announce a nominee until after the G8 summit. When is the G8 summit? A nomination won't be forthcoming today, imo, because the president has too much class to make it look like he's too anxious.

Not necessary to be a lawyer to sit on SCOTUS
I did not know that. When the Senate this week was talking about appointing one of their own it occurred to me they would have to find a lawyer, but I didn't realize a law degree was not necessary.
Hmmm ... With that knowledge, I wonder if anyone is floating my name around in D.C. as a possible justice.
