My facetious point, exactly. So now that they admit there's a problem, have they even started to find a solution? Or am I jumping the gun in suggesting they admit there's a "problem"?

They are stating it because they want support for ID Cards which the majority of the UK population do not. They are going to cost us a fortune and people see it as big brother 1984 etc connotations.

The Government think that my admitting illegal figures that this will swing public opinion and therefore make rebel MPs come into line.
