Khomeini’s early companion and foreign minister, Sadegh Ghotbzadeh, was a link to Syria. Most left-wing radicals were repressed only after summer 1981, by which time many former Communists had successfully accommodated with the new regime. As for Russia's links with the Taliban and the commies......well thats a joke. In fact it was the (India-Russia backed) Northan Alliance that broke the back of Taliban. Russia has been fighting terrorism long before the US joined in the fray post 9/11.

They hope to bring pressure on Western governmets such as the USA to quit supporting Putin - hoping he'll fall from power and they can sweep in during the power vacuum. That particular jihad started in Afganistan against the Soviets. The West had pumped in billions of dollars of aid and weaponry to fight the Soviets. Later on it was the very same Mujahideens that turned against their Wester masters once the war was over. And Pakistan used the Afghan Mujahideens to wage a Jihad against India. And it was the same Mujahedeens that brought about the 9/11, the attack on Indian Parliament and the Beslan massacare.
Nope not at all.
The US never bothered about terrorism before 9/11 (the day US itself was hit) while India had been yelling about it form roof tops. And only Russia was there for help.
