The Holy Roman Empire wasn't holy, Roman, or an empire.

"editor Alan Franklin"

I didn't even notice that. Any relation to Al Frankin? Pseudonym perhaps?

Looks like the "new" Holy Roman Empire ain't holy; ain't Roman; and ain't an empire what with France's and The Netherlands rejection of the constitution. Even the real Roman descendants, the Italians, are making noise about ditching the Euro.

"The United Nations headquarters will be moved to Gibraltar..."

I can't see the UN moving from New York. The shopping plus restaurants are outstanding for all those bureaucrats and their families.

Sounds like this guy is a worshipper of Gerald Flurry or one of the many cults similar to his.

Major Prophecies in Daniel 2 and 7 indicate that the Holy Roman Empire will be the dominant force in the world when our Lord returns.

No they don't.

When an author begins by assuming facts manifestly not in evidence, nothing he subsequently asserts can be taken seriously.

Believe what you like, but I've been taught to stay in the day and live one's life as if Christ is going to return in the next moment, since no man knows (or can know) the exact hour and day. These agonizing attempts to squeeze current events through the Amazing Jack Van Impe Book of Revelations Prophecy Filter (TM) smack of divination, in my view. Time and energy is better spent dealing with the here and now.

A 10-nation alliance did appear in Western Europe in 1995. It's a 10-nation military alliance known as the Western European Union (WEU). These nations are members of both NATO and the European Union . What binds these 10 nations together is their mutual defense obligation under the Brussels Treaty.

It's interesting that the EU's Euro-Mediterranean Partnership for Peace (Euro-Med) combined with the EU's new European Neighborhood Policy (ENP) and coming seven-year budget period may set the stage perfectly for the seventieth week of Daniel. Here's where the seven-year element comes in. The EU has a seven-year budget term. So, Javier Solana's people have drawn up a new funding instrument for the ENP that will take over when the EU's next budget term begins on January 1, 2007. Since the EU fits its political agenda to its budget term, this instrument will be to finance Solana's foreign and security policy objectives for seven years.

Even with the apparent demise of the current constituon proposal, the EU's foreign and security policy needs continue. With, or without the EU's new constitution, beginning on January 1, 2007, Solana (or whoever may hold the post at that time) will have a huge expense account with which to confirm his Euro-Med covenant with many for seven years.

Twenty five hundred years ago Daniel saw the Roman Empire revived from the dead in the end times.

The horn is Greek.

Daniel 8:23 And in the latter time of their kingdom*, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

*21-22 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

[Roman] Republic, [Greek] democracy, or Judicial tyranny?

Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land...

I can not help but notice the reference to the Holy Roman Empire in the first paragraph and Roman Empire later. Is this a typo? If not he is the very first to suggest Daniel refers to the HOLY Roman Empire as distinct from the Ancient Roman Empire as it existed at the time of Christ.

This is very important distinction. Many recognize PAGAN Rome in the prophecies but none have seen the Christian Holy Roman Empire in these passages. The author would be the first I have ever seen.

An interesting prediction, although there are several problems with it.
