The bad guys behind this is the drug company Pfizer, 235 East 42nd Street New York, NY 10017. They need to hear from us.
They don't even need the land that these houses are on. They just feel that the complex they are plannig on building will look "nicer" without them. Amazing, sadly amazing.
The short answer is No we do not.
The soccer Moms are far too busy watching Oprah, and stretching their necks to gather any intel about what Tom Cruise or other worthless celebrity-types are doing today.
The viagra Dads are too busy trying to get it up and keep it up, to notice anything else going on in the world.
The snot-nosed Kids are busy chasing after what the kids next door has, to even have a clue.
In short, as a society we are too self-absorbed to care about anything other than when our next instant gratification will arrive. Amerika has become a collective couch potato. The politicians know it, both parties by the way. The tyrants on the Bench know it full well too. That is why they can make these sort of rulings. They know there is no-one to stop them.
I don't know much about this stuff, but I need to know for another message board where I post. Thanks.
Start hanging your flag upside down. I reversed mine yesterday afternoon after reading the decission.
I don't know to whom this would be a shock.
It's pretty common knowledge that Woody Guthrie was a communist, Arlo no doubt still is.
Understand that private property is not just real estate, it's EVERYTHING you own.
Exact-a-mundo. The only pro-communism song that rivals it is Lennon's "Imagine".

A lot of people have given examples of governments seizing land for business interests. I'm more afraid of government seizing land for government purposes. There's a trend in social services to place group homes, rehab centers, welfare flop houses, etc. in private neighborhoods. This ruling gives local municipalities the green light to seize any house in any neighborhood (except theirs, of course) and turn it into one of these s**tholes.
As long as we have a Second Amendment, we have a chance.
I think I've just come up with the rationale to finally buy myself one of those fine rifles produced by Mr. Barrett in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Yes, the vote was split along ideological lines.
Correction: That home you invested so much of your life in it belongs to the government. It is only rented to you until the day the government chooses to rent it to someone else.
If you don't think I'm right, just try not paying the property taxes... see what happens to "your" home!
- excerpt from The Declaration of Independence of the Thirteen Colonies In CONGRESS, July 4, 1776
Note1: The 1st Amendment provides the means to ALTER the Government
Note2: The 2nd Amendment provides the means to ABOLISH the Government
In compliance with: Public Law 829 (77th Congress) Sec. 4(a) : "The flag should never be displayed with the union down SAVE AS A SIGNAL OF DIRE DISTRESS" & Title 36 U.S. Code §176(a)* (a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property. On December 22, 1942, Public Law 829 (77th Congress, 2nd Session) was approved, giving official sanction to most of the provisions of The Flag Code. This Public Law established The Flag Code in Title 36, United States Code, Chapter 10, Sections 173-178. This flag shall remain tattered and upside down as a sign of Constitutional distress!
This land is my land, it is not your land
I have a shotgun and I'll blow your head off
From the New London bypass to California Redwoods
This land was made for me to keep.
American citizens will have no more rights left that a prisoner in a communist gulag. I have to say, many of them deserve it for being so stupid and living in denial all these years.
We need to stop using the words 'theft' and 'facist' in connection with this case and provide an educated response. As long as we marginalize and only tell half the truth, we will lose even more because it is a terrible display of ignorance.
First, just as in eminent domain cases, the parties are PAID for the property. So implying that someone who has worked and slaved for a home is just forced to hand it over wihtout compensation is untrue.
Again, I do not say that this type of taking is right or just. BUT, we all pay property taxes, so who owns your property now? IF you do not pay your property taxes, your land is taken by a private investor at auction.
We have always been subject to a possible eminent domain, so who owns your property?
We have all been renting from the government for a long time. It is a shame we have not raised a hue and cry at that with a united front.
What we need to do is stop reacting to the incidentals and start educating. The first function of government ought to be addressed again and again. It is to protect private property rights.
We need an educated populace (and it can start here) that understands government and its function. Otherwise, as long as we engage in the same half truth arguments and name calling that the other side does, we will lose it all.

President Bush can't possibly speak out against this travesty of justice and keep a straight face -- because there's a baseball stadium down in Texas that was built under this same stupid "eminent domain" process.
