I don't know a thing about basketball, but it seems funny a small town in Texas is the best in the NBA

San Antonio — Population: 1,144,646
Its not that small.

Yep, not any more. The metro is at 2 million, and if you combine San Antonio with nearby Austin, it is a market the same size as Minneapolis-St. Paul, Seattle-Tacoma, Phoenix, or Denver and the entire Front Range. And growing by 75,000+ a year. The area won't have a small town feel for much longer (unfortunately.)

I bet that 1.5 million is the smallest city that hosts a basketball team.

And illegals don't count;)

Almost double the size of Boston and actually larger than Dallas. San Antonio is Texas's second largest city.
