GO SPURS GO!
In real news- Rey Mysterio just beat Eddie Guerrero on Smackdown!
Would you like to take the tour?
Great Game. Go Spurs!!!! Such a classy team - I'm so glad they won!!
Walton is a paradigmatic example of how the party on the left became the party on the right, or how the counter culture became the status quo. He's now a respected, "mainstream" sports/media personality, and he's still just a lefty that occasionally spices his observations with political commentary. We all got fooled again.
I remember seeing him and the Trailblazers in New Orleans in 1973. He was sitting out the year with a bad foot, I think, and Sydney Wicks was carrying the team on his back. Pistol Pete Maravich shot the lights out of the basket that night and put on a dribbling display that I've never seen equaled. Walton was booed lustily as he loped off the court like Treebeard in his blue jeans, long hair and hippie headband.
He was a good buddy of the SLA's married white couple--I forget their names--the Scotts? They were the ones who Patty Hearst was with when she sprayed the sporting goods store (she was ripping off of white socks) with machine gun bulets in LA. It was ironic that DeFreeze and the other Soledad jailbirds were torched in their hideout while the spoiled whitey rich kids who alerted the police to their whereabouts lived.
Walton, like Hanoi Jane, never paid for his indiscretions. He just went on to win the Championship in '77 (I think), and even got to play in Celtic green at the twilight of his career. Go figure.
Now he's an inane oracle with lefty ideas and Brooks Brother's suits, and he's still making a fortune. Maybe he should team up with Marv Albert.
As a long time citizen of San Antonio, thank you.

I go to Detroit a lot--a lot more often than someone in Iowa does.
Like ANY OTHER major city, there are good parts and bad parts.
Even the allegedly wonderful cities of San Francisco, Chicago, LA, New York, Boston have good parts and bad parts.
But when actual riots (sports or otherwise) break out in those other cities it's considered some sort of coincidental aberration.
Even though there have been 6 championships in the last 20 years and NO riots in Detroit, Detroit still gets stuck with the rep.
It's horsecrap, a cheap and easy cliche for someone to resort to. I'm sure you're proud of yourself.
But he did, that's why they play the games...

? Actually only two are from out of the country...
Manu is from Argentina and Tony from Belgium/France. Shame you aren't here because these fellows are really VERY upstanding guys...
I can't think of any THUGGY players... I'll take a decent man that's a "foreigner" over a THUG anyday!!!
Well, thank you so frikkin' much for that insightful, articulate and mature assessment of the Spurs.
Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez...
Remember the Alamo!

Well look at the bright side. Some of the best talk around the water cooler is how idiotic Bill Walton was in his commentary the night before. It really is amazing that he still has a job. Sean Elliot does a much better job for the local San Antonio channel.
Firestone asked Walton of his opinion about the war in Iraq.
Walton said he was against it, that it was "a big mistake", and when pressed, he cut off the discussion and asked that the interview go in another direction........
it was just about that same time that GWB's name came up.
Oye mano, la diferencia fue,
Detriot hit - 2 of 14 3 pointers
San Antonio -7 of 11.
lol!
I'm sick of lefties, not of Southpaws.
He was superb tonight. I didn't see games one and two, but heard about his performances. I did see games three and four, and the Pistons had him intimidated. But, tonight... that was a memorable performance!
It was a great vacation. Mrs. DFU's distant relatives in Uvalde, a walk through some great caverns, the Riverwalk, the Alamo, Georgetown, Austin, LBJ Library at UT, and GHW Bush Library at College Station. What is that huge tower we went up in San Antonio near where the Spurs play?
