Manu was on fire tonight, a man possessed. He delivered many coffin nails on both ends of the court with Elmer's glue defense, slicing drives for two, deft ball handling, clutch shots from three-point range and the free throw line, etc. It was a pleasure to watch him play.

The San Antonio Spurs are not only NBA Champions, but heroes as well. This victory has saved the city of Detroit from suffering huge numbers of casualties and property damage.

I don't like San Antonio at all. Three of their starters are foreigners and one of them was even born in Belgium and raised in France. How much worse could it get? If he declares for Islam tomorrow? San Antonio is yucky!

Yep, we sure can't be allowing them dirty foreigners to participate in playing a GAME. < / sarc >

a sore loser riot in detroit to follow - film at 11!

There hasn't been a riot (sports-related or non-sports) in Detroit in over two decades. In the meantime far more "chic" cities like San Francisco, Chicago, and Los Angeles have seen sports riots (all of which were far worse than what happened in Detroit after the 1984 World Series).

Can we please retire this smear?

Congrats to the Spurs. They're a worthy champion and thoroughly earned it.

Maybe you should change your name.... ;-)
Ginobili is one of the greatest lefties ever in the NBA. It indeed is a pleasure to watch him play. Some of his moves remind me of Julius Erving.

I bet that 1.5 million is the smallest city that hosts a basketball team.

And illegals don't count;)

Bull. The Pistons won last year--no riot. The Red Wings won in 1997, 1998, and 2002--no riot. The Pistons won in 1989 and 1990--no riot.

Again, could we retire this STUPID cliche?

Bill Walton is an idiot...

It really doesn't matter what follows from that statement. It is a tautology.

I'll bet there was, it's just that nobody can tell. You can't junk a junkyard.

This is Tim Duncan (the one slam dunking the ball). He's a really good basketball player. He plays for the San Antonio Spurs. They just won their 3rd championship in 7 years tonight. You may not care, but some of us do!
