Hugh Hewitt ^

Posted on 06/23/2005 5:06:36 PM PDT by Bratch

Hugh just said the Democrats are committed to losing the war.

He's going to play the entire exchange between Senator Kennedy and Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld and Senator Kennedy's 15 minute speech on the floor of the Senate next hour. (8-9 pm EDT.)

You can listen here.

If they are not "pro-terrorist", they are the next thing to it. In Cold War lexicon, "fellow travellers".

Just like during the Cold War they weren't pro-communist they were anti-anti-communists. Why they didn't then or now just go with the simpler anti-American name, I just don't know.

Kind of a shame Rummy didn't just say, "Oh, shut the hell up, you fat drunken woman-killing traitor, or I'll slap that giant bloated head of yours."

Probably not the sort of response allowed in the senate, unfortunately. ;>)

Byrd, grrrrrr. Byrd and Kennedy lecturing anyone is beyond belief. I only saw the clips of Kennedy, I didn't even realize that Bryd was there running his shaky mouth. Was he drooling too?

That fat drunken buffoon was probably in office and voted with the dems to cut off the funding for the South Vietnamese, which left them and Cambodia wide open for the massive slaughter of millions that took place after. THAT should be thrown back in his face when he bloviates about our getting out of Iraq. The consequences are much higher now with Islamic murderers wanting to kill us here on our own soil.

That is why it is essential that we hang together and not allow small setbacks to detour our unity. They desperately need that to happen in order to win. DO NOT LET THEM. We must win this war and we must change the courts. If today didn't teach us that, nothing will.

Yeah, what you said.

Yeah! I hope today's ruling and the Durbin/Kennedy comments help rally us. Time to build some positive momentum.

Well, I wouldn't go as far as saying that [the Democrats] are "pro-terrorist".

How, then, do you explain their inordinate concern with the "rights" of these "terrorists"?

As I noted in my Post 31, because the terrorists are currently fighting against the U.S. military.

If George Bush were to strike a deal with the terrorists, the Democrats would be raging about how the terrorists should be boiled in oil.

The Democrats are not "pro" anyone or anything.

They are simply anti-America and anti-Bush.

The Democrats are not "pro" anyone or anything.

Except for that pesky "pro-choice" thing.

He learned foreign policy from Jack, who stuck the Cuban freedom fighters in the back by reneging on promised military assistance. In other words, it runs in the family.

I agree but with a caveat: JFK wimped out while Teddy would never even get to a point to wimp out.

This should be posted every single time fat drunk Ted Kennedy talks. And a reminder: EVERYONE WHO VOTES FOR KENNEDY IS AS BAD AS HE IS.

That is not necessarily true.

The Democrats want to win the war.

But here lies the rub.

For the Democrats to win, the United States will have to lose.

The Democrats want the fundlementalist muslims to win.

Just as they wanted the communists to win in Vietnam.

The Democrat's friend is anyone who hates and wishes to destroy the United States of America. And the democrat's best friends are those who hate and want to destroy the United States of America the most.

Ted Kennedy is disgusting. If anyone should resign it is him.

What's he ever accomplished except getting away with murder.

It's not bad enough that Pres Bush has his choices for positions philibustered, now Kennedy wants them to resign. What's he drinking?

This whole hearing performance by the Dems proves Karl Rove's statement to the max./rant

Statement of the day:

Mr Rumsfeld replied: “You sense the American people are tipping away from support. I have a feeling they're getting pushed.”

I doubt it.

He will be kinda old to be a Presidential candidate at that point....and I think he wants to retire.

I was just a contractor. But the military is doing some great things worthy of praise over there.

I had the chance to meet and play some golf today with some guys who were home on leave. One was from Fallujah, another Balad and another Karbala. Great guys.

They will be in my prayers.
