There is a category of sociopaths that have learned to mimic the social responses of normal people. I think this explains most modern Democrats quite nicely.

I heard that on Laura Ingraham's show today and immediately started yelling at my computer screen. If I were there it would have been a whole different response than Rummy who merely said, "he had already tendered his resignation to GW twice". Rummy is a class act, we are lucky to have him.
I would have told the swimmer off in no uncertain terms.

Antisocial Personality Disorder is also known as psychopathy or sociopathy. Individuals with this disorder have little regard for the feeling and welfare of others. As a clinical diagnosis it is usually limited to those over age 18. It can be diagnosed in younger people if the they commit isolated antisocial acts and do not show signs of another mental disorder.

Antisocial Personality Disorder is chronic, beginning in adolescence and continuing throughout adulthood. There are ten general symptoms:

not learning from experience

no sense of responsibility

inability to form meaningful relationships

inability to control impulses

lack of moral sense

chronically antisocial behavior

no change in behavior after punishment

emotional immaturity

lack of guilt

self-centeredness

People with this disorder may exhibit criminal behavior. They may not work. If they do work, they are frequently absent or may quit suddenly. They do not consider other people's wishes, welfare or rights. They can be manipulative and may lie to gain personal pleasure or profit. They may default on loans, fail to provide child support, or fail to care for their dependents adequately. High risk sexual behavior and substance abuse are common. Impulsiveness, failure to plan ahead, aggressiveness, irritability, irresponsibility, and a reckless disregard for their own safety and the safety of others are traits of the antisocial personality.

Socioeconomic status, gender, and genetic factors play a role. Males are more likely to be antisocial than females. Those from lower socioeconomic groups are more susceptible. A family history of the disorder puts one at higher risk.

There are many theories about the cause of Antisocial Personality Disorder including experiencing neglectful parenting as a child, low levels of certain neurotransmitters in the brain, and belief that antisocial behavior is justified because of difficult circumstances. Psychotherapy, group therapy, and family therapy are common treatments. The effects of medical treatment are inconclusive. Unfortunately, most people with Antisocial Personality Disorder reject treatment. Therefore, recovery rates are low.

This sounds like the very picture of Slick Willie. It could also describe the majority of the Democrats in Congress.

Mo, that man is the single most pompous ass currently in the U.S. Senate, and might be the most pompous ever.

That is why it is essential that we hang together and not allow small setbacks to detour our unity.

Amen to that. I resolved last Fall that I would get right in any lib's face that engaged debate, but to do so with facts. You have to get right in their faces, just as they get into yours.

And don't back down.

They will curse you. They will attack you personally. These are the tactics Democrats have used since the 60s, in collusion with the liberal press, to distort history, national accomplishments and cultural achievements. But they will leave you alone if you assert the truth over and over and over.

Republicans are beginning to behave just as they need to. And as we need to. But always as a debate, with facts, and never, unlike liberofascists, with violence and hate.

Ted Kennedy's rant should be forced on all Americans. No one can listen to whole thing and not be either enraged or embarrassed. He is practically saying we should surrender in Iraq and then tell him he was right. He makes Howard Dean seem articulate.

The Democrats are anti-military, anti-American and pro-terrorist.
Well, I wouldn't go as far as saying that they are "pro-terrorist".

"I disagree" any real Democrat crossed over in 1994 and became our Rino Republicans. What is left are Marxist, Communist, Fascist, Racist, and Moron's.

Thanks. I can't state how important I believe this is. WE MUST NOT FALTER. I am to the point where I profoundly believe this is a watershed moment in our history. I do not want to look back at the end of my life and realize that my frustration that things did not go perfectly my way contributed to the success of those who wish to control the lives and thoughts of my children. Liberal or Islamic.

I do my best. I am not a confrontational person by nature...but I am not afraid of a debate. Bring it on.

Oh, and BTW, can I be on your team?

To Byrd, Rummy should have said:

"If Byrd promises not to tell me how to win the Iraq war that we already won a year and a half ago, I promise not to tell him how to gain recruits for the Ku Klux Klan."

To Kennedy, Rummy should have said:

"If Kennedy promises not to tell me how to win the Iraq war that we already won a year and a half ago, I promise not to tell him how to murder a woman drinking and driving."

I don't know if I've ever seen (or paid attention to) the bridge pic before. That is scary and definitely an argument for not driving drunk or even sneezing at the wheel.

I've been saying that the GOP needs a Military guy. We need a tough talking, take no prisoners kind of guy. Tommy Franks and Swartzkoff come to mind. I only saw clips of Casy but as soon as I saw him he went on my list too.

Of course I secretly wish Cheney would come to the country's rescue.

Democrats want to lose the war.....and so does Chuck Hagel, who seems to know a lot more about losing than winning.

Well, I wouldn't go as far as saying that [the Democrats] are "pro-terrorist".

How, then, do you explain their inordinate concern with the "rights" of these "terrorists"?

I question whether they have addressed a fraction of the rhetoric and effort toward the memory of the WTC victims as they have on the issues of Abu Ghraib and Gitmo.

If they are not "pro-terrorist", they are the next thing to it. In Cold War lexicon, "fellow travellers".
