I'm a '63 graduate of SVHS. I have not commented much about Natalee's disappearance, but think of her as a granddaughter. Your reference to a war between good and evil is spot on. And evil follows no rules.

Yes, but stupidity is a companion of evil. More will come out in the future, and you can bank on it.

I graduated from high school in 1960. I did not attend SVHS, but Shades Cahaba Jr. High, which might not be there anymore. My father worked for the Frisco RR at the time, and he was transferred to Kansas City. It was sad, because my parents were ready to purchase a house in Mountain Brook just prior to the transfer.

I still have many relatives in the area. My cousin was a big name disc jockey during the seventies and eighties, but was killed in a car accident in 1983 or 84. His name was Stan Smith, but I believe he went by the name of Jay Jason. My wife will be returning from Russia is September, and we will be making a trip to visit relatives then.

My sister attended Shades Cahaba (memory is fuzzy). I remember her going to Hall-Kent before SC, and she was two years ahead of me in school. Homewood Jr. High opened in 1957, and she was stuck with little brother there for one year before moving to SVHS in the 10th grade. She must have been at SC for 7th and 8th grades (55-56, 56-57).

My wife and I lived near B'ham until Labor Day 1983. I remember Jay Jason, but did not know of his untimely death. Hope you and your wife have a safe and fun visit in Alabama The Beautiful this September.
