believe that PvdS gave instructions to the 3 boys and told them what version of the story they have to give to the authorities and what they shouldn’t tell.

well this puts Dad VDS beyond the bounds of the parent-child privilege. if he affirmatively instructed them on what to say and what not to say, that is why he is being held, and not just to psych out Joran to spill his guts.
