Then one cold January evening when I was 13 years old, my father jumped to his death from a bridge. My family was unlucky enough to have the "town gossip" living right across the road from us. The very next morning.... bright and early and bitterly cold, the "town gossip" found it oddly necessary to traipse across the road to question my broken-hearted mother on the details she was unfortunate not to find in the local morning paper. It was disgusting and very, very sad for my mother.
There are a few of those "town gossips" on this thread, if I may say so, the kind of people who have not enough in their lives, they must spend a great deal of their time on threads such as these.
Darn, how would the world be without "town gossips" howling and speculating about others' unfortunate situations.
This world would be better if the "town gossips" would go read a good book.
Buzz off.

And I do hope you aren't comparing the busy body that took part in your family's tragedy with this thread, where we certainly aren't impacting anyone's life.
You have my sympathy about losing your father and having to deal with town gossips. I too lived in a small town full of gossips. It is awful, but to compare what is going on here on FR to small town gossip is wrong. The speculation that goes on here will never hurt the people that are being speculated about. That hurtful kind of speculation is going on right now in Alabama and Aruba and there is nothing that anyone can do about it.
Sorry about your Dad anyways. <> <
BTS- that must have been a difficult thing to go thru- anyone who has lost a loved one knows that.
I hope someone finds Natlalee so that one family can be sparred- but it is looking doubtful at this point, isn't it?
I keep checking here- every so often for an update.
