I haven't needed to post, because you have said things better than I could have. I appreciate all the research going on in this case by everyone, but don't want to rush to judgment on this young man. The evidence certainly points to him, but as Greta said today, everyone believed that the man who was first arrested for kidnapping Elizabeth Smart and died of a heart attack in custody was guilty of the crime, but it turned out not to be true.

I am so sorry to hear about your son. What a horrible experience. I hope he is doing ok. You sure understand what Natalee's parents and relatives are going through. This must be horrible for you, bringing back a lot of memories of what happened to your son.

Your post gave me pause to think. I do think that the events of detaining persons in this case have been very suspect, even considering the differneces of Aruban law vs. American. One cannot discount two events. The first one being the letting go of the three boys and then detaining them a week or so later(thus losing valubal forensic evidence) and the holding of two innocent suspects. The second being the very aggresive move of detaining Paul Van de Sloot. If he were involved in any way given the allowances of the Aruban Justice system they should have held his son immediately. If "God Forbid" Natalee had been dumped in the ocean the most likely route to finding her would be sooner rather than later. Still, I do see your point, I just wish the "officials" had handled things differently in order to give more credibility.
