I think we agree that Daddy was cleaning up a potential mess...that night.
Bad man!

We will all be shocked and disgusted when we find out what "Judge" Van der Sloot did that night.
As the article I posted above relates--expats usually don't leave their native land just to improve the scenery.
I wonder if the FBI got a look at the elder VDS's rap sheet from Holland.
<<<<<"Daddy VDS looks like a pervert">>>
He looks like a square headed Dutchman, just like my Dutch friends husband and son. Maybe he is scared and guilty and sweating like a pig but I don't know what you mean by looking like a pervert.
LE seems to be zeroing in on the 2 VDS.

Yep, either both dad and son participated in rape or Dad cleaned up Joran's mess.
Hope we are all WRONG.

I think they are saying the fathers involved in some way in the cover up. I read somewhere that the authorities down there checked the dads banking records and found he went to the ATM the night the girl disappeared 3 times at 300 am. and 3.45 am in the morning. Seems strange to need cash that late, but then again it's a party town. But I thought the mom said her husband was sound asleep? Who knows?

The most likely cause of death is drugs mixed with alcohol. Kid(s) drag Dad in. Blood being thicker than water (and Dad's legal training tells him that no body means most likely means a circumstantial case), Dad became an "accessory after the fact" (though that may not be the Dutch charge) and helped the kid(s) dispose of the body. Sharks are a great help...but some body parts will eventually appear (I hope). Also, hair (except for on my noggin) is ubiqitous. If she was in a car trunk or boat, Natalee's hair is in their somewhere.
But, truth being so much stranger than fiction. I am probably off by a mile.
The brothers may truly be innocent. I'll bet Joran never told them what happened to Natalee. Probably only Daddy and Joran know.
By George! I do think we've got it! lol!
But then, we haven't discussed the possibility that Paulus may have been so scared, he sold her to Slavery, and shipped her off the island that night.
It only gets worse.

You may be right. We need someone here who can tell us about Dutch law!!
Very possible...see my #948 below for another possibility.
Death from a mixture of drugs and alcohol would be an accident--manslaughter charge...not PREMEDITATED MURDER.
But I am often wrong in my predictions of how these cases will go.
I don't think we're far from wrong.....
"I don't think we're far from wrong....."
With Daddy in custody; I don't think we are either.
Here's that other thread:

Warning: It contains a lot of naysaying and Greta-bashing.
I think this is a true statement.
Some ATMs have a cash limit per transaction. He may have had to use it three times each to get enough cash for whatever he was doing.
