That's what I like about Joe as well. He's a voice of sanity in an insane world.

This was all news to me last night when Greta reported it. I'm behind! I didn't know Daddy was at casino, etc. etc.
Guess Daddy and son had similar "hobbies" so they could share "quality" time!

I think it's astounding that the father met her at the casino and didn't think it was worth mentioning in his interview. Did he even tell Natalee's parents that he'd met her?
Innocent people, in this situation, don't lie without cause.

I haven't read this story before. Anyone?

I think they are saying the fathers involved in some way in the cover up. I read somewhere that the authorities down there checked the dads banking records and found he went to the ATM the night the girl disappeared 3 times at 300 am. and 3.45 am in the morning. Seems strange to need cash that late, but then again it's a party town. But I thought the mom said her husband was sound asleep? Who knows?

Other than CNN, it was magnificient! We went to Tamerindo (Pacific side) and stayed in a fantastic house,
Casa de Valor It was worth saving up for that trip and staying there... Kind of like a 'lifestyles of the r & f ' type of place. The only bummer is coming back to the real world (just kidding).
Our family wants to go back to Costa Rica, but we'll try the Caribbean side next time;)

Hi, kassie. It's also worth noting that presumably the father took money out of the ATM three times between 3 and 3:45 a.m. the night Natalee was last seen alive.
He claims he was home sleeping and I can only think he was taking money out at that hour to hire the DJ charter boat guy to help dump Natalee's body.
The father also said he didn't remember if he woke his son up in the morning for school and couldn't remember if he went to work that day. As an attorney, he knows not to place himself at one location when a witness could pop up and place him at another.

Innocent people, in this situation, don't lie without cause. I'm wondering how Greta found this information out! His ATM transactions are most interesting....

To be fair, I suppose it could be that Joran had his dad's bank card and made the withdrawals. Either way, one or both of them has some 'splainin to do!

I would hope the bank has video of just who visited the ATM.

Could be, but didn't JvdS win $360 gambling that night?
To: maggiefluffs
I doubt seriously that the father went to the ATM twice at 3-ish in the AM just because he lives in a party town. Perhaps if he was in a casino, he may have cause to go to an ATM in the lobby, but I see no indication he was in a casino or partying anywhere.
His withdrawals at the time stated are very mysterious, slightly sinister, and frankly, stick out like sore thumbs.
It could have been pay-off money for rent on a boat and the boat's operator.
Or perhaps he intuited what was coming down on him within hours.....and he wanted to leave cash in the house for the immediate needs of his wife and family if he wasn't around, plus a minor amount of carryin' cash for himself if he needed it.
Then too, he may have withdrawn every last euro to leave with his wife for safe-keeping or to be sent to Holland.
In short, it's my belief he probably knew he wouldn't be getting to his bank at any time soon, if ever.......

yeah, I have to go back to view the irony of the quote that the Aruban officials (loosely quoted) "we can't go in like cowvboys" used a few days ago...when the essence of their justice system is to do just that, they held 2 completely innocent minorities on the basis of finger pointing. They held and sullied the name of 2 innocent persons (and their families) without the benefit of a lawyer and the higher threshold of evidence that is demanded in the American system. Bump!

There seems to have been a lot of activity at 3:00am:
Beth believes Natalee was at the vdS home
Father at ATM machine
Rumor-Father at McD's
Anything else?
To: brigette
greta... Natalie meet (saw) both PVDS and JVDS at the casino that Sunday. What!? I missed that.
