Rove is right and liberals just don't get it. I still remember 9-11 when I got in and a friend told me to turn the radio on and said a plane had just hit the first tower. I also remember shortly after the towers fell some bleeding heart already talking about how "we asked for it". More US dollars flow to the Middle than probably from any other nation and we get blamed for MiddleEastern poverty, and MiddleEastern hate. If we weren't buying oil who would give a damn about the MiddleEast and yet we are to blame. Did we preach the hate? Did we raise our children to strap bombs to themselves? I think that anyone who blames American first is insane but then again they blame Walmart, they blame capitalists, and they blame the religious right. They have plenty of blame for everyone but those who are violent and want to kill us. Like Dick Durbin and the other rabid leftists and those they have misplaced sympathy for, it isn't that they are misunderstood, it is because we understand exactly what they say and what they plan and that we disagree and are willing to fight against them that they are upset about.
I heard Howard Dean talking on PBS tonight about how the Democratic party has more in common with evangelicals and religious communities and tennants than the Republican party and I revealed at how he said it with a straight face. It was if he thinks that religious people are dolts, and he went on to say that the Republican party didn't understand charity. I have yet to understand that one, Jesus did not go around confiscating other people's money to do God's work. That is where Democrats just don't get it, charity is charity because one chooses to give not because you choose for other people to give. The worst Evangelical is better than Howard Dean and his ilk because one has the choice to turn the evangelical off and ignore them and their offerings of love gifts for your hard earned cash, ignoring Howard Dean on the other hand is dangerous because he will recruit the federal law to compel you be charitable.
"I don't care why they hate us, just as long as they fear us."
I think I know why, they hate us because we are free and choose to stand in their way. To say no to them. Thats all it is. We stand in their way. And it drives them mad.
Islamic rule of Earth is what they want and believe, the koran a constitution for earth. Democracy the enemy of Islam. This is what the radical islamo facists believe and we have already seen how far they will go thinking they can actually achieve it.
Their hatred truly has nothing to do with us, it belongs to them alone, its ancient, it pre-dates us. We will never let them succeed or continue to act towards those goals without great and dire consequence.
There is no other way but to destroy them. They chose their path, it was their choice all along. I also believe their are many brave Iraqis and Afghans and other muslims in the world that truly want change. Too many people have helped us, sacrificed with us, and died next to our soldiers for that not to be true. Bush was right, people will always choose to be free.
I am ever astounded and grateful at the courage of the volunteers that fight these enemys of civilization. They are heroes now and always. Words always fail. I send money to help the military folks when I can.
Also, we must never stop trying to reach our fellow Americans and do whatever we can to help them to understand all this. I know its frustrating, and probably futile sometimes. But thats not the point. We must keep trying, and trying new ways to reach our fellow Americans whose minds have been warped by liberalism. They are our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, friends. People do change, I've seen it, I've had a part in it. It can take years, but it CAN happen. I know this for fact.
Its tough, and I feel like giving up trying to reach them sometimes too, but I truly believe we are winning this front too. You never know who is reading what we say, we must always have patience and put our best arguements out there.
"Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers," Rove said Wednesday night. "Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war."
Rove, President Bush's chief political adviser, spoke at the state Conservative Party's annual dinner. He praised the conservative movement's success, calling it "the guiding philosophy for the White House, the Senate, the House."
Rove said the Democratic Party made the mistake of calling for "moderation and restraint" after the terrorist attacks.
"Conservatives saw what happened to us on 9/11 and said we will defeat our enemies. Liberals saw what happened to us and said we must understand our enemies."
Rove also denounced Sen. Dick Durbin's comments comparing interrogation at the Guantanamo Bay prison camp to the methods of Nazis and other repressive regimes. He said the statements have been broadcast throughout the Middle East, putting American troops in greater danger. Durbin has since apologized for the remarks.
"No more needs to be said about the motives of liberals," Rove said.

Well hell, I could have told you that 3 years ago. And honestly, even I was a little late in coming to that conclusion. It took me a couple of months, probably around January of 2002, to realize that very, very few Dems learned the lesson.
"Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war."
I was out of country on 9/11.
Not long after I returned, I had guests for dinner. I was amazed when these folks refused to accept my assertion that we were at war.
The terrorists, or the democrats?

It's not enough to have superior firepower; it's not enough that our enemy knows we have superior firepower; it's not enough that our enemy knows we will use superior firepower; no, our enemies need to know that we ENJOY using superior firepower.

Good work, Rove - direct hit!
