New York -- Speaking in a Manhattan ballroom just a few miles north of ground zero, Karl Rove said on Wednesday night that the Democratic party did not understand the consequences of the Sept. 11 attacks.

"Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers," Rove said. "Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war."

Rove, President Bush's chief political advisor, spoke at the state Conservative Party's annual dinner. He praised the conservative movement's success, calling it "the guiding philosophy for the White House, the Senate, the House."

Rove said the Democratic Party made the mistake of calling for "moderation and restraint" after the terrorist attacks.

Rephrase please.

"The GOP has called for "moderation and restraint" in the face of the continued terrorism of the Democrat Party in undermining our nation's security by a choreographed scheme of treasonous remarks in order to further their leftist agenda."

the Democratic party

Not want to be a pain in the ass about spelling (God knows I'm making it as we speak), but can anyone "splain to the Press that we already have Democratic Parties?

Refer to them as "The Republican Party" and/or "The Democrat Party.

Just want to set the records straight!

We need to give each liberal a few Pitt-Bulls. After a year or so of playing 'nicey' with them some will find out the hard way that that method doesn't always work.

Rove: Dems Didn't Get 9/11 Consequences

By SAM DOLNICK
ASSOCIATED PRESS

NEW YORK (AP) - Speaking in a Manhattan ballroom just a few miles north of ground zero, Karl Rove said on Wednesday night that the Democratic party did not understand the consequences of the Sept.

"Conservatives saw what happened to us on 9/11 and said we will defeat our enemies. Liberals saw what happened to us and said we must understand our enemies."

Rove also denounced Sen. Dick Durbin's comments comparing interrogation at the Guantanamo Bay prison camp to the methods of Nazis and other repressive regimes. He said the statements have been broadcast throughout the Middle East, putting American troops in greater danger. Durbin has since apologized for the remarks.

"No more needs to be said about the motives of liberals," Rove said.

"Karl Rove said on Wednesday night that the Democratic party did not understand the consequences of the Sept. 11 attacks. "

Exactly true.

And Karl Rove and the Administration doesn't understand the consequences of their pandering to illegal invaders from Mexico either.

Amen! "Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war."

And AMEN!

Dems aren't really all that bright on 2 fronts. #1 they have to have their noses rubbed in it 3-4 times before they get it. And #2 they think that all the dangerous, disarming fantasies and delusions that they come up with like gun control, multiculti and pc, have some relation to reality.

I'm sure they're not bright in a LOT of other ways, but those two are related to the article :)

Godspeed and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

For background on the leftists see this book:

*********************************************************

Unholy Alliance
by David Horowitz
Regnery Publishing, Inc.; ISBN: 089526076X
Hardcover - 256 pages (September 2004)

In this tour de force on the most important issue of our time, David Horowitz, confronts the paradox of how so many Americans, including the leadership of the Democratic Party, could turn against the War on Terror. He finds an answer in a political Left that shares a view of America as the “Great Satan” with America’s radical Islamic enemies. This Left, which once made common cause with Communists, has now joined forces with radical Islam in attacking America’s defenses at home and its policies abroad. From their positions of influence in the university and media culture, leftists have defined America as the “root cause” of the attacks against it. In a remarkable exploration of the “Mind of the Left,” Horowitz traces the evolution of American radicalism from its Communist past to its “anti-war” present. He then shows how this Left was able to turn the Democratic Party presidential campaign around and reshape its views on the War on Terror.

Horowitz’s Unholy Alliance, writes John Haynes, the noted historian of American Communism, “is an insightful, brilliant examination of the mental world of the radical left. Horowitz shows how today’s radicals, unwilling to reflect on the internal flaws that destroyed Marxism-Leninism from within, have embraced an all-consuming nihilism in its place. This has led them to a hatred of American institutions and a solidarity with Islamic terrorists that makes the radical left more properly regarded as dangerous than loony.”

Unholy Alliance is an eye-opening book that should unsettle conventional assumptions and reveals why intellectuals and political leaders who applaud Michael Moore are no laughing matter. As Harvey Klehr, author of Venona: Decoding Soviet Espionage in America, writes, “The world Communist movement may be moribund, but its habits of mind and ideological fantasies have not disappeared. This is a fascinating and depressing account.”

Durbin has since apologized for the remarks.

no he didn't. his non-apology apology was for offending people, not for his remarks.

Rove is right and liberals just don't get it. I still remember 9-11 when I got in and a friend told me to turn the radio on and said a plane had just hit the first tower. I also remember shortly after the towers fell some bleeding heart already talking about how "we asked for it". More US dollars flow to the Middle than probably from any other nation and we get blamed for MiddleEastern poverty, and MiddleEastern hate. If we weren't buying oil who would give a damn about the MiddleEast and yet we are to blame. Did we preach the hate? Did we raise our children to strap bombs to themselves? I think that anyone who blames American first is insane but then again they blame Walmart, they blame capitalists, and they blame the religious right. They have plenty of blame for everyone but those who are violent and want to kill us. Like Dick Durbin and the other rabid leftists and those they have misplaced sympathy for, it isn't that they are misunderstood, it is because we understand exactly what they say and what they plan and that we disagree and are willing to fight against them that they are upset about.
I heard Howard Dean talking on PBS tonight about how the Democratic party has more in common with evangelicals and religious communities and tennants than the Republican party and I revealed at how he said it with a straight face. It was if he thinks that religious people are dolts, and he went on to say that the Republican party didn't understand charity. I have yet to understand that one, Jesus did not go around confiscating other people's money to do God's work. That is where Democrats just don't get it, charity is charity because one chooses to give not because you choose for other people to give. The worst Evangelical is better than Howard Dean and his ilk because one has the choice to turn the evangelical off and ignore them and their offerings of love gifts for your hard earned cash, ignoring Howard Dean on the other hand is dangerous because he will recruit the federal law to compel you be charitable.

"I don't care why they hate us, just as long as they fear us."

I think I know why, they hate us because we are free and choose to stand in their way. To say no to them. Thats all it is. We stand in their way. And it drives them mad.
Islamic rule of Earth is what they want and believe, the koran a constitution for earth. Democracy the enemy of Islam. This is what the radical islamo facists believe and we have already seen how far they will go thinking they can actually achieve it.
Their hatred truly has nothing to do with us, it belongs to them alone, its ancient, it pre-dates us. We will never let them succeed or continue to act towards those goals without great and dire consequence.

There is no other way but to destroy them. They chose their path, it was their choice all along. I also believe their are many brave Iraqis and Afghans and other muslims in the world that truly want change. Too many people have helped us, sacrificed with us, and died next to our soldiers for that not to be true. Bush was right, people will always choose to be free.

I am ever astounded and grateful at the courage of the volunteers that fight these enemys of civilization. They are heroes now and always. Words always fail. I send money to help the military folks when I can.

Also, we must never stop trying to reach our fellow Americans and do whatever we can to help them to understand all this. I know its frustrating, and probably futile sometimes. But thats not the point. We must keep trying, and trying new ways to reach our fellow Americans whose minds have been warped by liberalism. They are our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, friends. People do change, I've seen it, I've had a part in it. It can take years, but it CAN happen. I know this for fact.
Its tough, and I feel like giving up trying to reach them sometimes too, but I truly believe we are winning this front too. You never know who is reading what we say, we must always have patience and put our best arguements out there.

Exactly, that is what they fear that we can choose to stand in their way. Its also why the left hate conservatives. We stand in their way of rushing off to stop global warming and other equally spurious causes.

Ditto! Our grandchildren come first.

I can't believe this even needs saying, but it probably does:

I don't care about what libs want, their sensitivity, their nonsense, their wimpiness - screw 'em, we're doing it our way now. They can shut up and get out of the way or be trampled too - and they honestly think we give a rats about what they say is outrageous behavior at Gitmo, abu graib etc.

I not only don't care what is being done to terrorists in my name, I'm sure I wouldn't think it was severe enough.

They couldn't be more out of touch.
