OXENINFLA posted this on the Tony Snow thread ...I thought it should be seen by more freepers. Senator Durbin has used the same FBI memo before alleging torture at Gitmo....except back then(FEB 2005) he used it against Alberto Gonzales in is confirmation hearings.

Good post, both of you.

Turbin Durbin.

Somewhere last week I read that one of our Republican congressmen was making fun of Amnesty International's list of "abuses" and one of them was that terrorists weren't given sugar for their tea.

I can hardly believe that one and would love to have confirmation.

Thanks Dog.

};o)

Also this is one hell of a statement..

In one e-mail that has been released under the Freedom of Information Act, an FBI agent complained that interrogators were using what he called ``torture techniques.'' This is not from a critic of the United States who believes that we should not be waging a war on terrorism. These are words from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Putting a democrat on ANY intel committee is asking for anti-americanism to dig through secrets and find ammo for leaks and smears of this nation and our brave military. It use to be 'liberalism, a disease in need of iradication;, but it's fast becoming 'Democrat leaders, the oozing cancerous sores killing Miss Liberty from within'.

extremely loud rap music was being played in the room

Common, everday torture is one thing.

But rap music?

That is over the line!

That is interesting, since in his speech last June 14, he said that he was very "hesitant" to even bring up the memo because it was so horrible, but that he felt it was important that it be read into the record.

But he had already read it into the record.

Also, he claimed that we knew this memo wasn't written from an opponent of the war, because it was an FBI memo. Does he really think that every single FBI agent is a republican, or supports the war?

"The war in Iraq is more dangerous today because of the scandal at Abu Ghraib prison. Our conduct has been called into question around the world. Our moral standing has been challenged..."

It's amazing to listen to these pukes worry about America's standing around the world, when it has been them...and their media cohorts, who have perpetuated this very image around the world.

For a group of people who supposedly believe in innocent until proven guilty, they were the ones who were convicting people before they even had trials. And instead of defending those brave men and women who do their jobs the right way, they've used guilt by association to smear the entire institutions.

There has never been any perspective offered by them, nor has there ever been any balance to show just how far we Americans have gone to accomodate these terrorists animals.

These are the same frauds who won't show the planes crashing into the WTC towers because it may inflame emtions...and yet, they will parade Abu Ghraib in front of the world for over a year to specifically inflame emotions against America.

They cry foul when we show pictures of a captured Saddam or his sons, even calling it a violation of Geneva statutes...yet in the next breath, they are broadcasting pictures of prisoners at Abu Ghraib, around the clock simply because it will make America look bad.

It isn't Gitmo and Ghraib that have become recruiting tools for new terrorists (as Democrats claim)...it's they and their brethern who have perpetuated this myth by intentionally inflaming the emotions of our enemies as they ignore any perspective or balance in their self-righteous indignation. And they will destroy this country simply because they all hate GWB.

I keep waiting for a journalist or commentator to focus on the "Freedom of Information Act" aspect of this memo.
It seems like a diligent antiBush operative went fishing, found something that they thought they could smear the Administration with, and are proceeding to do so.

Surely someone should ask Durbin who gave him the memo. I'm not saying that it is more FBA [fake but accurate] bs, but it should have more provenance than a simple "obtained."

Do Senators aides routinely get info from the FBI or from DOD by FOIA? Or do they ask as a member of a committee for a report?

Great post. More insight into this screwed up this POS Senator. His analogies in this speech are as revolting as his current analogies. Anal logic. Head up his ass.
