Oh bullcrap. I've heard that speculation, it's nothing compared to the lives destroyed by the scourge of alcolholism.
I would be willing to put money on it that these same people are fully in favor of such things as the smoking bans, and other big Brother initiatives.
some people just don't understand the difference between family friendly and adult friendly places. I would no more take my child to a sushi bar than eat glass, even though she loves sushi.
Thanks for the ping!
Are you being sarcastic too?
She DOES have an R after her name.
Im pissed at Bush for the opposite reason of the Nazis-namely, that he won't take a stand for OUR (smokers) freedoms! Especially since Lovely Laura (and I don't mean that sarcastically) is a smoker. She admitted it in a book last year, so it's true. Yet niether of them try to stop the madness. But, then, who's going to tell her to put her cigarette out?
Thanks for that little jaunt down memory lane. That was a great movie, wsan't it?

I know it! But I never mention it for fear of being flamed by people for mentioning that our lovely First Lady smokes.
When she first married George, they would visit her in-laws in Kennebunkport. The whole family was out in the yard playing some kind of sports. Laura was sitting in a rocker on the porch watching, with her book and her cigarettes.
Barbara Bush ask her if she wanted to join in the sports? Laura said "No, I am quite happy sitting here reading and watching them and having a cigarette.
She is one of the most beautiful women in the world and smoking isn't going to diminish that fact.
who is pasqual perez? I don't understand your comment.
:*?
Read this story. Atlanta Braves pitcher Pascual Perez got on I-285 to go to the ballpark to make his first major-league start, didn't know which exit to get off at and circled the city until his car ran out of gas.

very funny story. I'm wondering how bright the guy is.
She's a jerk
Go back to your hole and close the lid real tight.
What is that supposed to mean? I think that sounds kind of offensive, Dave.
Yeah...
The point being, moral busybodies, are always busy, even if in their own minds.. And with "moralty" coming from so many bases, only a mish mash can be expected.. To get morality comeing from a single base one has the look to Islam and Sharia Law..
Which is Mob Rule.. and the democratic socialism of the Mobs "Moral Protection Racket".., protecting from the Infidels and their mishmash of morality.. and totally BLIND to the immorality of the Mullahs..
And OH!... so very up to date.. All American political partys are operated by moral busybodies.. Is that bad.?. Just Look around and you'll find a moral busybody group that you can agree with.. I have..
**NOTE- Libertarians are anti-Moral busybodies(as are the Anarchists).. and are for forcing ANY morality NOT to be made law.. producing bizarro morality.. although they would deny it.. Denial can be another form of morality..
"I never thought I could ban drinking just because I didn't like it, but now I know I can," Schwartz says in a lengthy, satirical statement. "The impending smoking ban has empowered me."
Positively Clintonian -- I'm doing it because I can! What is that saying about power corrupting absolutely?
Un-freakin'-believable!! No alcohol can be served in a bar?? I think this NAG-HAG has been smoking something herself!
Re-read the article. She's making a point. She's opponent of a proposed smoking ban.
Your idea that many, many more people should die (or die earlier) of heart disease, stroke and cancer just because a small fraction of the population can't drink in moderation is just plain ignorant. It's not uncommon, though -- many "health organizations" have been reluctant to recommend moderate consumption for fear of seeming to encourage overindulgence. Counterproductive zero-tolerance at work -- feelings rather than facts.

Why do you say that? I think she makes a good point. Are you an anti-smoker?
